Really fun and educational

Visited with a group aged 9-50s. Everyone had a fun time. Very educational - really sparked an interest in learning more about Lewis & Clark.

You can see a jail and western items used by the people in the past. Plus there is equipment and reading material.

This is a small but really interesting museum in the old Bozeman jailhouse. The very friendly young lady on reception gave us an overview of the museum and Bozeman history.Allow about an hour. 5 minutes walk from the town centre

We love going and visiting local museums and this museum is great. Our guide was Ivy and was she extremely helpful and told us so much about Bozeman and the surrounding towns. We sure learned how much of a scoundrel John Bozeman really was. The museum in interesting and full of great items. It is neat that it is actually... More

This is a very nice little museum on local history of the Bozeman area. Not a lot of big exhibits but what they have is interesting and lets you learn more about the history of the area. Located in the old jail which also makes it interesting.

We had an afternoon to spend in Bozeman while passing through to our campground. We looked up the Museum of the Rockies but didn't feel like spending $60 for or family. We found the Pioneer Museum in downtown Bozeman. Such a great find! Kids are free and adults are $5. The museum is housed in an old jailhouse so the... More

Great place to visit a lot of history resides in this building and the price is very reasonable. You can see canons to quilts.

the Pioneer Museum, now named The Gallatin History Museum are one and the same. Great little museum, housed in the original county jail, built in 1911. We are RVers and always amazed at the information and artifacts one can find in these smaller museums. Also impressive are the volunteers who spend hours of their time to bring to fruition these... The Pioneer Museum in downtown Bozeman is a walk through the early history of Montana, especially the area of Bozeman. I took time to read the cards in front of every exhibit and was very surprised at the historical details. The connections to Lewis and Clark and Yellowstone are right there to investigate. The building used to be an old... More
