A fun way to spend an hour, see bears safely, and support a good cause. One of the founders gave a fun lecture about the bears and how they were rescued. The first grizzly they rescued was Brutus, who was going to be euthanized -- now he plays in his own pond and seems to enjoy the attention of the... More

This center is small. There is a yard where the bears pace around or splash in a small pond. The center currently has 5 bears they rescued. Only one or two bears are outside at any given time, owing to their solitary lifestyle. It was amazing to stare face to face with a grizzly bear for 10 minutes, but then... More

Very informative about to do's & don'ts about encountering bears. It would have been nice to view all the bears in one visit.

This definitely should be on your list of places to visit. If you go to Yellowstone, not everyone is going to see a grizzly but you can view them at the Montana grizzly encounter and help support the rescue while you're there. We make it a stop everytime we are in town. They have a new 1 year old that... More

These are rescued grizzlies, so can no longer function in the wild. This is a good sanctuary for them. If you have kids who want to see grizzlies (and are in the Bozeman area), bring them here rather than take the long drive to West Yellowstone. This is less formal, and the "bear experience" is just as good. We take... More

Right off of I-90 this inexpensive stop is perfect for learning and seeing up close grizzly bears! These bears have been rescued from often horrific living conditions and allow for you to see these magnificent animals up close. They aren't allowed back in the wild and the home that has been created for them at this facility is lovely and... More

Educational, staff is well informed about Montana wildlife. Place is small, hard pressed to get an hour out if it. $7 admission...get to see the bears up close.

It is inexpensive and you can stay as long as you like and take as many photos as you like. They are very, very friendly and knowledgable. I was really happy that they were specifically teaching bear awareness and Grizzly Bear safety since I was heading to Yellowstone right after going here. I recommend this place to everyone!! The Kids... More

At first I was worried about the conditions of the bears, given the name.. but no worries! These are all rescued bears here who are given a decent and safe place ot live out their lives with minimal stress. You can stay all day and see different bears while snacking or come back multiple times throughout the day if you... More
