My husband and I visited last week, and this was definitely a highlight of our trip to Montana (from OH) to see these bears in such a comfortable habitat. It was a very educational experience (bought bear spray the next day for our trip to Yellowstone), and our guide was exceptional- the passion of the employees are clearly evident in... More

Went here for a few hours with my daughter. We sat and observed some really large bears do their thing in a natural setting just west of downtown Bozeman. After seeing these incredible animals up close you will forever be more careful when hiking in bear country! I bought bear spray later that afternoon!

We stopped in at the Grizzly Experience on a whim after seeing several billboards advertising the bears. The only disappointment was that you only see one or two bears at a time, instead of all the bears. We arrived shortly before switching out the bears (there is only one outdoor area for the bears to enjoy) and so we were... More

The bears are amazing to watch and we loved hearing their rescue stories. But the real gem is the owners and their knowledge of the bears and their stories! So worth the trip and I can't wait to go back!

We ended up here with friends we visited in Big Sky. What an awesome find! We spent hours watching the bears and learning from the staff how to handle bears in the wild. We all really enjoyed it! Call ahead and get the times for when the different bears are out. You can also pack a lunch and eat it... More

A great opportunity to see bears and wolves close up in relatively natural settings. Good opportunity to take pictures. Quiet is encouraged so not to disturb the animals. Very educational.

We appreciate your kind words, but we do not have wolves. I think you might have been thinking of another wonderful place located by West Yellowstone called Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center? We hope you get a chance to also come visit us at Montana Grizzly Encounter. More

This place seems to be something put up in someone's back yard. The information is good and they have people telling you a little about the bears but it is very expensive to see two bears, at a distance hiding or doing nothing. It's not like seeing them in natural habitat, although I get it would be hard to make... More

Hi Samantha, We are a grizzly bear rescue and educational sanctuary. All of our bears have been rescued from bad captive situations, with the exception of our newest rescue who was orphaned in the wild. We strive to give the bears the most natural environment they can possibly have in captivity, as none of them would survive in the wild.... More

Very enjoyable...this venue is run by a wonderful couple trying to save some lost soul bears that have nowhere else to go....kind of lost causes that they have chosen to take in for the rest of the Bears lives....really touches your heart...please go see the amazing... I'm an avid hiker and I have a very healthy fear, respect and admiration for bears, especially grizzlies. But while hiking, I have NO DESIRE to come across one. Visiting the Montana Grizzly Encounter gave me the chance to really admire them up close. The guides were informative and friendly, and I got to see Casey Anderson (owner, bear activist)... More
