The boo at the Zoo is fun and going when the weather is nice is a great time to get out of the house. Not a four star zoo but nice to have in a smaller mountain town. It's okay- never became a member because I didn't see the value.

What makes ZooMontana special isn't the total number of animals. (It is a zoo in a smaller city that is one of the few in the country that is not publicly funded, after all.) What sets this zoo apart from many others is the setting. Between the otters and the red pandas, and so forth, is a nature trail that... More

My husband and I got married at ZooMontana on a beautiful June afternoon this year. I love ZooMontana, the Sensory Garden is just beautiful in the spring and summer. I have an 8 year old daughter who loves the animals. It's fun for a picnic as well!

It was not exactly the best time of year to see a zoo as the bears were hybernating and trees had lost their folage but it was still fun for our grandkids that had never been to a zoo before. It must be a beautiful park in the summer.

Hello, Thank you for your visit and for your kind words. I am glad to hear you had a nice time. Yes, the recent wind has taken out almost all of our leaves, but you are correct, the fall foliage was remarkable this year. Keep in mind for future visits, the bears here don't hibernate and you can actually see... More

I read the information expecting a huge zoo with several different species and animals. They're is only 11 types of animals and maybe 15 in the education center. I had a good time, but it was not what I expected.

Hello Kristian, Thank you for your visit to ZooMontana. I am glad to hear you had fun, but sorry to hear it wasn't what you expected. We have never advertised ourselves as a large Zoo, in fact, we take pride in the fact that we are a small organization that focuses our exhibits around nature. For us, it's more about... More

This is a small zoo but nonetheless has a good variety of interesting animals. The animals are generally indigenous to the Northern Plains or are from similar habitats. There is a small portion dedicated to typical domestic farm animals. It's a great place to take young children and is easy hiking for we older people. There are ample spots to... More

The zoo is not well maintain i feel awful for the animals let alone the people that visit there. There are weeds everywhere never mowed where the animals live the water is filthy . The zoo has allot of possibilities but no one seems to care. I've visited it 3 times and still nothing has change. If its revenue they could... More

Thank you for the visit. It's too bad you did not enjoy the facility. I will be the first to say that we have worked very hard over the past two years to bring ZooMontana back. In the process, we have brought in many jobs, created joy in many children and provided a caring space for many animals. We have... More

I'm not really sure what I think of the zoo. It should be renamed because it doesn't really fit the vision most people have of a zoo. Its more of a nature walk with some animals to view here and there. It feels run down, this could be due to the financial troubles of the zoos past, but you can... More

Thank you for visiting the Zoo. I am sorry to hear of your disappointments. The Red Pandas were out, they must have been down low for some reason. I am happy to say we have 8 peacocks roaming the grounds. Most of them stay near the Homestead House. Several of them also hang out in the main plaza. I am... More
