There are limited animals at the zoo with a lot of new exhibits apparently in the works. We enjoyed the peacocks, Koi pond, aka farm area where my husband needed quarters to feed the animals and fish! We liked seeing the gray wolf up close as well as the tigers. The bears were funny with one resting in a hammock,... More

Thank you for the visit and for the kind words. As you said, we do have a lot of great things in the works as well as a huge new playground for the kiddos. Be sure to visit again this fall or winter for a completely different experience! Thanks again! Jeff Ewelt Executive Director ZooMontana More

We come to the zoo a couple times a year. This year we came with my nephews preschool and then later with the child information thing (early child intervention, head start, shrine's, etc.) My boys love the play area of the park. They liked the bears and the otters as well. They wanted to get in with the water foul.... More

Thank you so much for the kind words. We have come a long way in the last 4 years, from basically bankruptcy to a thriving nonprofit organization the community is once again proud of. We will continue to grow, it just takes time especially without a consistent source of revenue like a good majority of Zoos have. Stay tuned later... More

The description online is not indicative of the place. It's one step up from a petting zoo. We walked around the entire place in under an hour going slow. There are two bears, two tigers and literally a few other animals....like less that 10.

Well shucks, I'm bummed to hear you did not enjoy your experience. Although your description is a bit off, we actually have 105 animals of 56 different species, we are not looking to crowd the Zoo with an abundance of animals. We wait for the animals to come to us through injury or human interference. We are also a very... More

I recently visited this zoo. The grounds are beautiful with a few different gardens to peruse and a cute little "petting zoo" type section of barnyard animals. The koi fish pond was my favorite by far and my children loved all the different animals. The Cons- we visited in summer. It was miserably hot. They did have a few benches... More

Thank you for your visit! We are happy to hear of the pros that you encountered and certainly are bummed to hear of the cons. It has certainly been hot out here! We have looked into misters and will likely install a few if cost effective. As for the mosquitoes, we do treat the grounds for them the best we... More

My 4 kids and Grandmother and I enjoyed the zoo. The animals out and about. If your not much in for the animals the grounds are a beautiful walk.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stroll through this small zoo. The gardens were lovely and the atmosphere throughout was peaceful. The animals were mostly out and about..the tigers were having a playful tussle and the grizzly was batting around his floatie in his pond. What I enjoyed the most, however, is the lack of pushiness and crowds that larger zoos are... More

Thank you for the kind words, they mean a lot to us. The feeling that you had here is the exact thing we are going for. It's more than a Zoo to us here, it's a nature experience. We appreciate you recognizing that. We hope to see you again soon! Jeff Ewelt Executive Director ZooMontana More

Not many Montana animals but they do have Grizzlies wolves and bighorn. The river otters were fun to watch. My daughter enjoyed achieving the Jr Zookeeper patch and learned a lot while doing the booklet

Loved the Red Panda's and the wolves. We visited at the time after they had just fed the animals and the animals were all sleeping and not out roaming around. It was hard to see many of the animals. It is a great zoo for the city it is in. Definitely a great place to take the kids and go... More

Thanks for your visit! Sorry to hear you felt the Zoo was sub-par, but thank you for the kind words. We take pride in the fact that the animals have large, spacious habitats, but as you mentioned, sometimes this means in can be difficult to find them. We recommend you come in the morning, right at open, especially in the... More

Perhaps when I think of a zoo, I like to think of elephants, giraffes, lions, tigers, and educational exhibits. This "zoo" had two tigers...and that's about it. Taking the family there for the first time seemed like a good idea. We spent about an hour walking through the zoo only to see animals that you could see just driving through... More

Hey! You forgot to mention we have several Red Pandas, sheesh. Thanks for your visit, although we're bummed to hear it was below your standards. However, to hear that your daughter loved it is just fine with us, as that's who we want to impress, so thanks for sharing! As for the animal enclosures, this is a very young Zoo,... More

I went here with my two daughters, ages 9 and 7. We were excited to see the red pandas! They are so cute!! The paths to follow are so nice. The gift shop also has animals and critters in it. There is also an awesome playground area that both my kids loved. We plan on going again this summer.
