Zoo Montana has a variety of great animals as well as gorgeous grounds. Entry fee is reasonable and there's almost always some kind of event going on there - for example, a renaissance festival & the Highland games. A good place to see bald eagles and red pandas. They have a lynx named Fierca who is an animal ambassador; she... More

The Zoo has made great strides in recent years to put Billings on the map and get taken seriously as a Zoo. Thanks to Jeff and the team, it's quickly become a great place again. Love taking the kids here and learn about a good selection of animals. Looking forward to more animals coming soon!

At one time, this was an excellent place to visit. I no longer live in Montana and I know the place has experienced budgeting woes. However, if it is still open, it is worthy of a stop. Although small, the natural habitat environment has to be seen to be appreciated.

Hello and thank you for the kind words! Yes, we are still open and stronger than ever! Sounds like a trip back to Montana is the perfect thing for you! We are indeed small, but we're growing every year, while still making sure we keep that natural environment. We now welcome in over 100,000 people per year, have an incredible... More

My wife and I go to the Zoo about 4 times a year. I'm amazed at how well kept it is and the cleanliness of the grounds. It is very pretty and has a lot of animals that we enjoy taking our time to watch and photograph. The only reason I didn't give it a five is that we need... More

Thank you for your support of the Zoo! Thanks for taking note of the grounds, we work hard to ensure they're in tip top shape! As for the rare animals, watch this coming Spring for Takin, a unique hoof stock animal from Mongolia. We think you'll like them! Jeff Ewelt Executive Director ZooMontana More

We went as a family with children, and the Zoo is laid out well, nice trails, nice signs, nice exhibits, it is just small. We loved the domestic animals- horses, goats, chickens.

The zoo is small and very good for young children and their parents. The animals were there but not visible at all times. Some animals could never be scene and the distance between some animals was a long walk. Not too well organized.

Thank you for the visit and for your review! We agree, we really cater to those families and kids. As time goes on, those spaces between exhibits will fill in as they are in our master plan. Exhibits have gone in sporadically over the years, but we are now growing at quick pace, so holes will begin to be filled!... More

My daughter and myself took a family with two young children, 3 and 1, and a mother with multiple disabilities. The reason for our visit was for the family to spend their 3 year olds first trick or treating experience during the day so the mother could see her son trick or treat. The mother is legally blind. The zoo... More

Zoo Montana is a great little zoo. Not a ton of animals but the grounds are kept up nicely and all of the animals have plenty of room. The prices to get in are reasonable and souvenirs were not overly expensive. It was a fun afternoon for the family.

We go just to walk the paved trails the zoo and stop to see what the animals are doing that day. The zoo is set up for the animals to live in an environment as close to the natural habitat as...
