The billings Zoo is a pleasant walk for family's, or just to get some exercise and see some of the wonders of nature around you. I always feel more relaxed after a stroll thru the zoo grounds. A note to parents please tell your kids to not howl at the wolfs, or growl at the tigers or other animals. The... More

We had a great time at the zoo. It was fun to stroll around looking at the animals. My highlight were the wolves, they were howling! It is a nice family stop.

The zoo was fun and quiet. It was close to our hotel (the Big Horn Resort) and very affordable. The zoo had red pandas which we do not have at the Phoenix Zoo.

Zoomontana does have grizzly bears and tigers but the grounds are lacking. It would make a world of difference if they could get proper funding. It is a great place to take little kids.

We visited the zoo with my daughter's Brownie Troop. I was very impressed with both the quality of the exhibits and also the professionalism of the volunteers who accompanied us. The zoo is set up like a walkway through a large park, with exhibits spaced out nicely. The animals seemed happy and well cared for. The volunteer who accompanied us... More

This "zoo" is not worth the money. They have a few animals. And most of the time you can't even see what they have. Lots of broken down or empty exhibits. My kiddos don't even consider this a zoo. Youngest says we need a "real" zoo. It's a.nice walk. But not all the bridges and pathways are disability friendly. Some... More

Well fiddlesticks, sorry to hear of your disappointment. I'm not sure what a "real" zoo looks like as everyone has a different opinion on that, however I do know that we are working hard to build this Zoo from the ground up. As one of the youngest, and very few Zoo's in the country that do not receive tax support,... More

There are limited animals at the zoo with a lot of new exhibits apparently in the works. We enjoyed the peacocks, Koi pond, aka farm area where my husband needed quarters to feed the animals and fish! We liked seeing the gray wolf up close as well as the tigers. The bears were funny with one resting in a hammock,... More

Thank you for the visit and for the kind words. As you said, we do have a lot of great things in the works as well as a huge new playground for the kiddos. Be sure to visit again this fall or winter for a completely different experience! Thanks again! Jeff Ewelt Executive Director ZooMontana More

We come to the zoo a couple times a year. This year we came with my nephews preschool and then later with the child information thing (early child intervention, head start, shrine's, etc.) My boys love the play area of the park. They liked the bears and the otters as well. They wanted to get in with the water foul.... More

Thank you so much for the kind words. We have come a long way in the last 4 years, from basically bankruptcy to a thriving nonprofit organization the community is once again proud of. We will continue to grow, it just takes time especially without a consistent source of revenue like a good majority of Zoos have. Stay tuned later... More
