This is a small but nicely executed art museum. It does not take long to go through, but was very enjoyable. Best part was talking with their "Artist in Residence" which is a program that allows you to talk with an artist who is working in their on-site studio, Participates in Museum Reciprocity program, so may be free.

My daughter went to the museum with my mom. The both came back with an outstanding review. I purchased passes off of Groupon and the both said it was definitely some place they would go again, even paying full price.

We came through Billings with my mother in-law who hadn't been back to town for 30 years. We woke up to an overcast rainy day and decided to start our day here. I have been to all kinds of art museums and this one was small but fun.

We no longer live in Montana but visit often that we maintain a membership to the Yellowstone Art Museum (YAM) and make a point to wander the galleries whenever we are in Billings. Not every exhibit is a 'must see' but often there are pieces that are amazing and enchanting. Highly recommend supporting this delightful museum.

Roomy museum to wander around and view the art. Both times I have visited there have been small groups of children touring the museum with one of the docents. The children were well behaved and did not impede our touring the facility. They change out the exhibits frequently and have different functions throughout the year.

This museum is small but well worth a visit. When I visited there was an exhibit of a Lego Artist that was fantastic. (Sorry that I cannot remember his name.) I loved the modern Western Art. Being from the Wyoming I like traditional western art but the new western art with vibrant colors and themes are my favorite.

We visit art museums wherever we go. I am an art docent at the museum in my home town. The YAM is a great facility and produces wonderful traveling exhibits for other musums, so seeing the art storage system in the visible vault and the artist in residence area is very interesting. Usually the ehibits have some Western art influence,... More
