You can't beat this trail system - it's expansive, varied, and well taken cared for. The Outdoor Shop has never failed to make me leave more money than I should: They have excellent products, and a great selection of unique things that I can't seem to leave without. They do a really nice job with everything we've experienced at Lone... More

We are planning our next trip to Big Sky. On our last visit, we had a beautiful night on Lone Mountain Ranch's Sleigh Ride Dinner. The experience is one of the most authentic evenings - from the beautiful teams of horses, the sleigh bells in the cold night air, the soft lantern-light of the cabin, the cast iron stove and... Beautiful scenery and groomed trails make x-c skiing a delight. Plus a sleigh ride to a cabin in the woods for prime ribs and cowboy music and then top it off the next morning with the best breakfast, especially the Sunday buffet, ever. The accommodations are modern and very comfortable, but in rustic cabins without phone or TV, wood burning... More

We went on the sleghride dinner many years ago when we were last in Big Sky and made a reservation to return. While the sleigh ride it self was wonderful, under clear starry skies, the cost and poor food really soured the whole night. The potatoes and vegetables were very undercooked and several members of our party felt sick later.... More

The ski school instructor we had was excellent, finally giving us the right tips to get our telemark turns started in the right (as well as left;-) direction. With over 80 km of pristine groomed trails and plenty of friendly advice, you can't go wrong with where to ski. Although we didn't stay at the ranch this time, the accommodations... More

We are complete newbies at skate skiing and had a wonderful time here. The staff was welcoming and patient with all our questions. We had a great instructor and even had energy left to go do another loop on our own. Bring a snack and you can sit outside and soak up the mountain beauty before you head out to... More

We had heard a great deal about this event and was excited to be going the anticipation was the best part of our experience! The sleigh ride was ok except for the wet blankets, it was snowing, and the entire trip was in complete darkness. We did not see any thing, I suppose it enlightened our sensory perception. The dinner... More

We are working hard to make sure that we provide as much information to folks before they book so they understand what Sleigh Ride Dinner is. We have had so many guests... More

I would love to give this an excellent review, but I just can't. I was so looking forward to this dinner and was extremely disappointed. This dinner costs about $200 per couple (including tip). My husband and I went with four other couples, so that means we spent about $1,000 for dinner. In hindsight , this was insane. When you... More

The sleigh ride was mostly in the dark, because it was snowing the blankets provided were damp. Dinner is a mixed review. Rolls, soup and vegetables were delicious. Prime Rib was cold and very rare, cheese cake had an odd texture and none in my party of eight liked it. The coffee was not good. For the price, $175.00 per... More
