Our family of 4 did the two hour trail ride in the afternoon. We've only ridden horses a couple times before so are pretty much novices. The staff did a great job of first covering safety issues & making sure we were aware of some of the inherent risks that come with horseback riding. They grouped us up w/ another... More

In our experience with trail rides, the success of the ride is completely dependent on the friendliness of the guide. We had two guides for a one hour ride and I wish very much that I could remember their names because they deserve a big shout out! We had a group of four adults and five children (ages 6 to... More

Small group, highly skilled coach/group leader and off we go! Horses are well trained and easy to handle (unless you get a mule). We had wonderful time although we never sat on a horse before. Trails go through the woods and meadows and patient observer may even see some wildlife (we saw a bear!!). The ride is completely safe and... More

We did a 3 hour ride that included amazing views. Our guide, Ginny, was great - incredibly kind and easy to work with. Horses were very well cared for easy to ride.

With the breath taking views and serene setting this is a must do. The guide was very friendly and the horses well behaved. We were able to stop and get some wonderful photos and even see a little wildlife during our ride through the Galatin National Forest.

Absolutely amazing! Those are the first words that come to mind when I think of my experience at Jake's. I went with my two younger sisters and a family friend who had never ridden before today and my mother, who like me have a little experience under our belts. We did the one hour tour and time flew by. Everyone... More

My family of 2 adults and 3 teenage boys, ages 17, 15, 13, took an all day trail ride with Lane on 07/25/2014. Although all of us had been on trail rides before, I considered everyone in our group beginners. Our horses were chosen and our saddles tested and we were quickly on our way to the trail head about... More

My family and I booked a 2 hour ride. Our party included 2 adults and 3 children. They do not tie off the horses when you mount, so horses are free to roam. I was told my horse likes to eat. Once I mounted my horse, she freely roamed to eat hay, which the handler allowed. Earlier while we were... More

Jake's guides took my son and I over Lemon Knob, amid beautiful meadows and up steep and narrow trails, to amazing views of Mount Wilson and Lone Mountain. We saw deer, elk, a fox, stopped for pictures, and took our time. The guides took longer than expected, and we enjoyed it all the more. If you are looking for a... More

I've been horseback riding once before this since taking a basic equitation course in college. This was a well-run, friendly business. I made my reservation over the phone for a 3-hour ride, and arrived a few minutes late due to extreme construction every 3 miles or so the entire span of Highway 191 (Gallatin Highway). Sidenote: PLAN LOTS OF EXTRA... More
