Cute little zoo

Lots of animals in a pretty setting. Lots of shade so it's even nice when it's hot out. For a small zoo they have done a wonderful job.

I was so close to the giraffe that I could stick my hand in the bars and pet it. Coolest experience of my life. Other then that its an OK zoo. What would you expect in Springfield MO? The Kansas city zoo is nicer and larger.

That is all this is. The Halloween was a big disappointment this year. Been here several times. And I will still go back.

I liked the zoo but needs a little work. Direction around the zoo need to be more clearer. We had fun & may go back again with family. Went when the zoo was set-up for Halloween, looks like fun for the kids.

I grew up going to this zoo but it took year for me to visit after the age of 10.. I went back last year and was surprised at all the changes. It had grown so much in some way but decreased in some. I still miss the gift shop over the water there where the train tracks are now.... More

We have a membership to the St.Louis Zoo but find this small zoo more enjoyable. It is easy to walk around and even being small they have a wide variety of animals. It is easy to find and has a park in front to have a picnic lunch at. I feel at this zoo you are closer to the animals... More

This is the perfect zoo for an easy day without a lot of fuss from the kids. It is the perfect size for smaller ones that wear out quickly. We love to feed the giraffes!

Thank you so much for your nice review. We have an entirely different funding structure than the Saint Louis Zoo, so we have admission fee. Hopefully, you'll be able to return again during our summer operations when the train ride is running (daily April through September). More

The only thing is, I'm used to not paying to get into the St. Louis Zoo but once I got past that it was enjoyable. The zoo was decorated for Halloween which added to the fun. It took us about 3 hours to walk through the entire zoo...we didn't get to ride the train as it was shut down for... More

I retired from a zoo, and we both enjoy visiting zoos around the country. We stumbled upon the Dickerson Park Zoo when we decided to stay in Springfield, an unplanned stop on a long road trip. This zoo was quite easy to find, and we were there right at the beginning of the day. It is a beautiful zoo, shaded... More
