My husband and I were so excited to attend Bacon Fest 2014. We paid $35 each (thank God we didn't pay more for the VIP tickets). When you walk in, there are booths lined up with samples of food prepared with bacon, liquor and beer samples infused with bacon, and various other items such as bacon shirts, tupperware, spices, etc.... Our family went to the Ozark Empire Fair for the first time this summer, and were surprised by how much fun we had. If you want to ride rides, the $20 unlimited rides wrist band is the best deal, but only if you plan on doing rides for a few hours.

We have been going to the fair for 50+ years, and with perfect weather this year we really looked forward to the annual Ozark Empire Fair. Not sure what has happened - but the livestock barns were near empty , the area where the rides have traditionally been located has contracted, and very few exhibits were on display compared to... Really great two day outdoor event in September. National and local musicians. All blues, all the time.

When you visit the fair ..make sure to go by A&W and buy a corn dog..and pint of root beer. If nothing else..YOU WANT THIS!! So good!! Even when we don't go and if we are in the area..we want that pint of root beer. Perfectly chilled. And, the corn dog. I don't know what they do different at the... More

We saw the 1 million Christmas lights advertised in the Newsleader. Sounded interesting ... Paid the $12 for the car load and began our journey. What we found was an fm station they had set up couldn't even listen to because it was so distorted. Lights that were spread out too far and not impressive. Suspect they are from a... More

While attending the international Studebaker Drivers Club rally at the fairgrounds we camped there. Other than not allowing dogs (lots of campers have dogs) this was a great and shady location.

The bull riding was eventful. Only 2 guys seemed to get a hard throw off. They shook it off and limped off the field. Score was Bulls 38. Cowboys 5. Bulls seemed to put on a show then put them airborne. Tractor pulls another story. Track wasn"t perfect so they had us sit there for an hour while the dirt... More

Costs have not increased which has been a plus, but still not as good a bang for the buck as others in the area. The rides are typical and standard, but my nearly 9 y/o thoroughly enjoys them! A negative is the ground itself is not always up to par on cleanliness and the bathrooms are usually a disaster!! BUT... More
