I've been coming here for years. This place is a gem in south Springfield. Helpful staff and wonderful interpretive features in the building. The trails are well-maintained. My only negative comment is about the runners. Many runners do not respect the posted hours that running is prohibited. Some runners are quite rude and expect walkers to get out of their... More

Went on 4th of July weekend. had a great time here and my kids really enjoyed the hike we went on. The conservation center building was very nice and had some neat wildlife displays that were very informative. There is also an inside observation area where you can watch wildlife up close (the day we went, we say lots of... More

The trails are fun and offer various views like the forest, marsh, and river. The museum is really cool. I grew up going here, and I still love to go with my friends' kids.

And quiet. Great place to go for a quiet stroll or a run. This is a beautiful time of year and lots of people were out and about but we still felt like we had the place all to ourselves.

A great place to enjoy nature just a few minutes from town. Even on a cooler day, the squirrels, turkey, and deer are in abundance and can easily been seen from the trails.

the paved and unpaved trails offer a nice little wooded hike, but the center borders and at one point even overlooks a freeway, so the traffic sounds, smells, and sight defeated my purpose.

Construction has some of the trails closed but I still managed to hike around for an hour or so. As the trails open back up this will only get better. Trails are wide so passing slower hikers, young and old, was no problem. Plenty of spots to take in the view.

With nothing better to do on a weekend, I got the gumption of going out, and meandered to the Springfield Conservation Nature Center, where they were having their annual "Eagles Day". I love being outside and am totally amazed by the critters that surround us and am always at awe by nature.... I love looking at all kinds of birds,... More

Great little place to get outdoors almost any time of year. We almost always see some wildlife out there, this time it was the turkeys. Extensive paved paths, grades may be steep for some.
