A visit to the Springfield Art Museum is a great way to spend the afternoon. It is very welcoming and easy to do self directed tours. The artwork is displayed beautifully and labels and descriptions are easily accessed. Original artwork by worldwide famous artists. The Springfield Art Museum is a gem!

Would highly recommend this museum. There was an Andy Warhol exhibit there when we went. Really really cool. As well as other well known artists. They have come a Paul Revere spoon, a Grandma Moses painting and many more notable artist work. And it's Free. Please give a donation Well well worth it

My husband took me here for my birthday last month and we were both disappointed. The majority of art exhibits were not beautiful, inspiring or worthy of the wall they were placed on. A whole gallery was devoted to an artist whose silhouette black and white images were pornographic. The little sign in front of the open door to this... More

Nice time and can push the grand kids around and talk while doing it.I took classes here when I was a kid in the summer and they were fun and inexpensive. They change the art frequently so it's always a new trip.

First off, this museum is free...which is rather unbelievable! Unfortunately, when I went there was an issue with the A/C in half of the building so I missed the permanent exhibits. Which I guess if I had to miss any exhibits at least it was the permanent so I can go back a second time, and I will. It seems... More

Lovely place. Laid out well. The displays are rotated so it is always different and interesting. My favorite time to visit is during Watercolor USA.

We spent a few hours here on a hot afternoon during our vacation. The museum was very clean and well laid out. It had many nice pieces of art. Our daughter is an aspiring artist so this made for a perfect stop for us.

The modest size of this museum makes it a perfect spot to tour on a rainy afternoon or even a lunch hour. Admission is free, though donations are accepted and appreciated. Elderly folks and families will youngsters will appreciate the fact that you can see this museum without walking 3 city blocks. Parking is free and convenient, and the collection... More

Went for the first time and we were surprised at the extent of the offerings. Have at least something from most of my favorities from the impressionist and expressionist eras. Many of the painting are from local artists as well and this goes back to the civil war. Nicely designed building and nearby nice park as well.
