Love this park! It is close to my house so this is my go-to. It's dog friendly and there are lots of places to explore. I personally love the greenway trail that follows South Creek. Even though the city did a lot of work to make things better, there is of course at times flooding issues so keep that in... More

Beautiful nature spot. All kinds of flowers and plants to enjoy and/or ideas to plant in your own yard. Jogging, biking, walking, and relaxing

This is a really great place to go on a casual stroll with your dog or go for a run. It is never too busy when I go (weekday afternoons) but I have gone on weekend evenings and it can be a bit crowded for me. It's really nice that we have somewhere we can appreciate nature right in the... More

I can't believe a botanical garden this big and this beautiful is available for free! It's one of our favorite places to take the kids. It's also connected to the Greenway system which is a great place for walking or riding bikes.

Nathaniel Greene/Close Memorial Park is not so much an "active" park--there's no skate park nor softball fields, but for a place to bike or stroll or just hang out, it's a gem. The park also includes a Japanese stroll garden and some restored homestead buildings, so plenty of diversity for all. Springfield Greenways trails pass through, so one can park... More

Park has many different areas with smaller gardens of different varieties of plants. Beautiful pond to walk around. Greenway trail goes through the park so you can go on a long walk, run, or bike trip. Trails are paved. Neat venue for weddings.

This is a beautiful park with lots to offer. There are many beautiful gardens, trails, and playgrounds throughout. I loved that they offer a free tram ride through the park on weekends so that you can get an overview of what they have to offer. The Hosta garden offers a great place to sit in the shade and enjoy a... More

This park is ideal for everyone. There is a play area for kids, a stroll garden for couples, and it connects to the Greenways for cyclists/runners/walkers. The park is huge, so there is plenty of space for everyone without feeling like you're cramped. There is also a butterfly house and botanical center. All for free. Wonderful!

This park you can get lost and be by yourself or take a relaxing walk with others. Beautiful gardens every where! I have never seen so many different kinds of flowers in one place! The huge lake in the center of it all is my favorite part! I highly recommend this park for a family picnic!
