Luckily the Bass Pro Shop was open later (I think until 8PM) so we spent the evening checking out all the displays!! The gun museum was closed. Maybe next time!! Stayed until closing! A little more difficult finding it that I thought. I thought it was closer to I-44. The best value was the ice cream cone!!

Make sure you block out a couple of days to absorb the Bass Pro Fantasy in Springfield! I have been to 3-4 other Bass Pro stores but my first time here. Tons of fresh and salt water fishing gear, clothing, archery, guns, knives.etc,etc,etc.....What was outstanding were the hundreds of displays of wildlife-elk,deer,bear,birds,fish all surrounded by waterfalls, boats - too much... We stopped in while on a hunting trip and could have spent the whole day. The NRA Firearms Museum was excellent. The docent knew all kinds of obscure facts that made the visit unique. We had breakfast in the Hemingway Cafe; and loved the buffet. The food was tasty and there was a good variety. The pastries were exceptionally good.... More

It is purportedly the original bass pro shop, and it is really big. The museum was closed for renovation while I was there, and I accidentally blundered into the conference (conservation) center prior to finding the front door to the store. The store is huge. There are large taxidermy animal displays as well as live animal displays. There is an... More

Hugh & amazing! Didn't know they made so many different fishing lures & etc. The stuffed animals were many, much rather see them alive! Loved the aquarium displays

Favorite place for kids and adults alike. The giant fish tanks and daily fish feedings are fun and educational. All you need for your outdoor needs can be found here. Looking for a unique dining experience? Hemmingways is just upstairs. Are you shopping with your spouse and needs to rest? Find an empty chair by the huge fireplace. So many... More

There's a reason this place is the #1 attraction in Missouri. There is so much to see here, so plan for at least a couple of hours to look and another hour to have a meal at Hemingway's.
