Been coming for 40+ years to Montauk. The stream is much more native, and park much more quieter than other parks and areas around Missouri, unless you're going off the grid. Just top notch! Fish the "flat rock" up from the damn, its about as cool as it gets. JL

I have been coming here for my entire life. I have seen the park transformed from a quiet place to a sold out everyday campground. If you don't have reservations do not attempt to come here without. The lodge has been taken over by a resort company that knows the service and the food don't matter because its the only... More

Have been coming to Montauck State Park for many years to enjoy its beauty and great fishing. Unfortunately the restaurant in the lodge grows worse every year. While the servers are friendly, they are overwhelmed during prime dinner hours. Not having enough employees to meet the demand in the kitchen, or in the dinning room. Tonight I waited for a... More

We are spending three nights here. Love the large, shaded campsites, bathhouse is clean, and perfect area to ride bikes. We didn't fish, but the stream was pretty. The only negative is I have to disagree with some of the posts that said the restaurant was good. We ate lunch there today, my food was swimming in grease, the food quality... More

Nice area. Good camping nearby and great canoeing with abundant wildlife. Would recommend Jadwin Canoe Rentals for equipment and shuttles.

We love Montauk State Park. I grew up doing vacations here every year, and love to trout fish. Fishing requires a MO state fishing license, and then a daily tag which is $3.00. The park is beautiful with lots of scenery & wildlife. There is also a trout hatchery on the grounds that the kids love because they can feed... More

A great representation of Missouri Outdoors. Offers trout fishing for a daily fee. Or just wander the trails, the lodge, or the fish hatchery. Cabins or camping spots are available.

This park is nestled between two large ridges and is the headwaters of the Current river. Lots of trees and animals to see. Be sure to take a little bit of a walk to the rearing ponds located past the Conservation office. This is where they keep the "lunkers" and when you throw in the fish food it is like... More

Montauk is one of our favorite state parks. The grounds are well maintained and the camp sites of reasonable size. Besides the trout fishing, there is plenty for the kids to do.
