Hawn State Park is one of the loveliest parks in a system full of lovely parks. Clear, sand-bottomed streams, wild areas ripe with orchids and awe-inspiring views combine to make Hawn a place that Missourians treasure. Geology buffs love Pickle Creek for the number of exposed rock types. Hikers frequent the Whispering Pine Wild Area for its quiet trails with expansive views. Bird watchers flock to the park for its variety of birds. And there are plenty of quiet spaces for people to get away and enjoy the outdoors.

This was our second time to camp here. We are retired so we can go camping during the week when it is not crowded. We enjoy the quietness of the park and the Pickle Creek hiking and other trails in the park. For day trips there are Elephant Rocks, and the Johnson Shut-ins. We also enjoy the winery's in the... Beautiful scenery; the perfect spot for everyone in the family to enjoy, any time of the year. Bring a bag for your trash, this is a national conservation and should be treated with respect!

Disappointed that rain preempted walk on one of the trails. Still beautiful drive through. Very small camp site as previously mentioned. No pull-through sites but nice concrete pads and some power. Most every site was reserved for weekend or had only a single nite available. Saw community shower building at camp site.

It is a state park about 15 miles from town. There are trails, etc. Not being a hiking fan, we did a drive through. It is pretty.

This place was great. Smaller campground than a lot of state parks. Campgrounds were great. We hiked all the trails, by far the best state park for hiking in MO. Highly recommend it.

Hawn offers a very nice and relaxing trail system full of whispering pine trees. It is just beautiful hearing the wind blow threw the pines - you'll love it. The park is clean with a small but nice children's play ground under the shade of the trees. Lots of people use the trails to walk their dogs. All were courteous... More

We decided to travel to Sainte Genevieve to escape the Memphis rain. My husband wanted some place we could exercise the dogs. We did about 4 miles of one of the trails. There were lots of ups and downs, which we like. It reminds us of being back home in KY. There aren't many hills in Memphis.

I haven't been to every state park in Missouri, so perhaps my title is a bit misleading. But Hawn is a fantastic park. Beyond being beautiful, it's just a fun place to hike. The campground is also nice, and we enjoyed camping there in the fall. I would imagine it gets crowded in the summer.

We recently camped for 2 nights at Hawn State Park. It's only about 70 miles south of St Louis, making it a great place for a quick weekend getaway. We stayed in one of the high 20's campsite which unfortunately is located to a small stream, so there were lots of bugs to battle. The site itself was pretty good.... More

We took the two mile hike up the bluff and then down to the creek. I loved exploring around the water. This isn't the easiest of trails and not sure would take young children although I did see some there. There are some very high drop offs close to the trail but once you get to lower ground the exploration... More
