It's a long strip of oasis in a downtown urban setting. When you cross the city's spine from North/South or South/North, it's nice to have a "concrete break" as you stumble upon the Expansion Park, which comprises strips of green space and monuments to add to the visual variety that is St. Louis.

Be sure to visit all parts of this park -- the Arch, the Museum, the movies, and the surrounding park. Take your time, explore the area, walk down a bit to capture photos of the arch from different angles. The nearby riverboat cruise can be a relaxing midday break. Visitors should not miss the Courthouse and it's exhibits of St.... More

The old Courthouse is also not to be missed, where the Dred Scott trial took place. Even the riverboat cruise of an hour is fun. The whole complex is done well, run well, clean and reasonable to tour.

This is a great spot to take in the park, right in the middle of town. It is only a few blocks from several wonderful hotels!

The trees were in bloom and the lawn & view were lovely. I felt bad that the Mississippi River was flooding the steps after all the rain last week but the park was still worth walking around. Beautiful and worth lying down and gazing at the magnificent view of Arch.

its just one of those things in America that you MUST go see . We had our teens and it was really cool as a family to learn the history and go up to the top to view St. Louis (a very cool city- friendly, clean). the arch is amazing inside and out. DONT MISS IT

The park could be lovely, but it needs a little renovation. There are some great walking/running trails, but it's not well-lit.

Jefferson National Expansion Memorial is the park you inevitably have to go through to visit the Arch, but it is a nice place to visit on its own. The park it very clean and functional, and includes a large amount of green space. Aside from the Arch itself, the park has some great features, like reflecting ponds on either side... More

The museum is amazing and even the tough the film about the construction of the Arch is dated, it is still an amazing accomplishment. Note the lack of safety for the workers!

This was my first return to go up in the Arch since I last did it as a child in the 70s. The views at the top are great, especially on a clear day such as we had. The kids loved the trip up and the little rolling elevators! The trams are quite small, but oddly enough I remembered them... More
