The Arch, The Old Cathdral, and the Old Courthouse...all within easy walking distance in the foot of St. Louis right by the mighty Mississippi.

Visited the Arch late afternoon. Sunlight reflection from the Arch was fantastic as we approached. Magnificent architectural and engineering feat. The ride in the tram to the top was well worth the price. Got great video both east and west from the top, 630'. Grounds are very nice. In preparation for the 50 year anniversary next year there is much... More

The movie about how The Arch was built is interesting, and I'm glad I saw it BEFORE I went up in the tram. I 've seen The West and the Lewis & Clark Center at Great Falls, but the museum at the Arch foundation was still very interesting. I missed the Courthouse which closed at 4:30, though the Arch was... The best part of the Arch was the free museum inside. My boys really enjoyed it. It is the lobby of the inside of the Arch.

Lovely greenspace along the river. Growing a sidewalk/bridge, so lots of construction, but it will be lovely.

This park is part of the National Parks system. Everyone needs to take the Trip to the Top. Summertime is crowded and busy but worth the trip. When we visit STL we always take the trip to the top. The best times to go are when the museum opens and during off peak tourist season (early spring, late fall, winter).... More

There is an excellent museum about the Westward expansion in the underground of the arch. The car ride to the top of the Arch was with it. Cool views of the city and river.

You can't go to St. Louis and not visit the arch. It is bigger than I thought. If you are going to go, go in the morning as the lines grow as the morning goes on. We walked right on early on Sunday Morning, but as we left lines were forming. Lots of construction going on surrounding the arch, but... More

With the construction, parking is difficult at best. If you're staying downtown or near the Metro, walking or transit may be a better choice. On our visit, security was moving very slow, and most visitors were entering via the north leg of the arch. Check the south leg to see if it's open, lines were very short on the south... More

If you don't want to go up in the arch make sure to still go in and visit this lovely little museum under it. Free! Great historic gift shop also. Get a list of the events before you go online- they do all kinds of fun things seasonally. Ask at the front desk for a scavenger hunt and kids get... More
