As much as I despised the Arch experience (all the waiting ... the waiting ... the waiting), I found the Jefferson Expansion Memorial Park to be quite the experience. My kids and I are Old West junkies. This place was great. And I only found it because I had a long wait while trying to get to the top of... More

We visited the museum and found it really interesting on the history of the growth of the USA. The Lewis and Clark Expedition and what it brought to our country at the time. The museum was well laid out brimming with information. It is well worth a visit. There is security check prior to entry. Staff is very nice and... More

The Dred Scott case was heard at the old courthouse...very nice old courthouse. Well-maintained by the government. Great 17 minute video to explain the ins/outs of the 1850's. Can't wait to see how they complete/finish the park.

This is the name of the National Park that contains the Gateway Arch as well as the Old Courthouse. You MUST get next to the Arch to appreciate its scale and grandeur.

What a wonderful historical museum below the Gateway Arch. Excellent visual displays of how the Louisiana Purchase played an important role in the growth of our country. No admission charge.

I've been to this park several times, but my favorite time to go is for the Fourth of July Fireworks. It will be crowded, but that's the way it is anywhere there are fireworks!

We went into St. Louis to pick up our registration for the Rock'N Roll races, and went to the Memorial park, museum and Arch afterwards. It was a gorgeous day, and the leaves were all turning so it was simply beautiful. There was still some construction going on on the Arch, which also caused half of the viewing area to... More

We had a wonderful time going up in the arch, but be forewarned: the lines to get through security are very long and slow. We had advance reservations but almost missed our time slot because of the long line. And there is no express line for those who have bought tickets online ahead of time (there should be).

There was construction going on in the park when we went, but even with that it was still nice. It's a HUGE park right on the river. The sight of the Arch towering over you at night is amazing. Judging by the posted plans the improvements will just add to the feel of the place.

We had a great time at the Arch, the museum, and watching the movie about it's construction. It was a beautiful day, so once in the arch, you could see a long distance. Be sure to make your reservations and buy tickets ahead of time. We did this, and were able to walk right in. Many people were waiting for... More
