There is an excellent museum about the Westward expansion in the underground of the arch. The car ride to the top of the Arch was with it. Cool views of the city and river.

You can't go to St. Louis and not visit the arch. It is bigger than I thought. If you are going to go, go in the morning as the lines grow as the morning goes on. We walked right on early on Sunday Morning, but as we left lines were forming. Lots of construction going on surrounding the arch, but... More

With the construction, parking is difficult at best. If you're staying downtown or near the Metro, walking or transit may be a better choice. On our visit, security was moving very slow, and most visitors were entering via the north leg of the arch. Check the south leg to see if it's open, lines were very short on the south... More

If you don't want to go up in the arch make sure to still go in and visit this lovely little museum under it. Free! Great historic gift shop also. Get a list of the events before you go online- they do all kinds of fun things seasonally. Ask at the front desk for a scavenger hunt and kids get... More

Firstly, the Arch is amazing! It's almost stunning to be honest. The disappointment comes from how poorly this attraction is organized. We had tickets for the 4:45 boarding (which would better be described as lining up), and then waited another 50 minutes before we actually were able to get to the top of the Arch. The top of the arch... More

The Gateway Arch is spectacular, but my favorite part of this is the museum on westward expansion. There's enough information in there that you would need all day to digest it all, so I focused my attention on the exhibits on Lewis and Clark and the Native Americans. A few things to point out if you're going up the Arch:... More

We enjoyed the park and monument. A lot of history and good learning site for our kids. We had a hard time finding the location because of the construction going on but worth the trip.....

The Saint Louis arch and surrounding park are a beautiful and tranquil place to visit in the city. This iconic structure is even more beautiful up close. The park has two movie theaters and museum in addition to the trams that take you to the very top where you can look out of any one of the 16 viewing windows... More

We stayed at the Drury Inn near the Convention Center so we only had to walk about 6 blocks to the Arch. When we went in July, the north leg was the only entry that was open, due to the ongoing construction. The movie, "Monument to the Dream" is excellent, it tells of the brave people involved in building the... More
