We stayed at the Chase Park Plaza and spent some time walking around the Central West End (CWE) neighborhood. Very impressive with the variety of restaurants, bars, clubs, stores, and coffee shops. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the streets and sidewalks, too. Some of the businesses had water bowls for pets to enjoy on their patios! The string... More

I like the central west end just because it reminds me of other locations, such as New York, Chicago. There are unique restaurants in walking distance and coffee houses. This is not normal for St. Louis, where there are malls and very few neighborhoods restaurants or coffee houses.

We were in the neighborhood before and enjoyed it enough to come back - this is a casual couple three hour time filler. Some of the houses (especially car prohibited streets are pretty awesome - not your typical 4 bedroom suburban house. These are major league, many with servant quarters in back. Lots of casual little restaurants - having wine... More

A lot of places to eat and grab coffee. Nice architecture in the surrounding area. Not as much shopping as we would liked to have seen. We'll be back to visit Tortilliaria on our next strip for sure.

While this is a neat place and looks nice, it is white washed. There is a ton of crime here among the beautiful houses and great restaurants. The Metro Link station here has one of the highest crime rates of all the stops. This is however a neat place to go during the day time.

The Central West End neighborhood has some beautiful old homes, some of which have been converted to townhomes. We went to Crepes Etc on Maryland Plaza for a late breakfast and then decided to walk through the area. On the north side of Maryland Plaza across from Crepes Etc and Scape Bistro are the Maryland Plaza Townhomes. If you walk... More

could not believe the size of the family homes in this area! cute shops and restaurants to stroll around and then walk a few blocks off the main street to gawk at the enormous homes
