The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra is literally world-renowned. They have travelled to Russia and performed in Boston and NYC to the delight of even the snobbiest wasps, but here in their home-town, we get a St. Louis price for a New York experience. I'd really recommend one of their 4-5 movie experiences. Watching Fantasia or Bugs Bunny on a screen... More

The last time I visited the orchestra had a new conductor who wasn't sure where he'd landed. This was funny as Forest Park was the arena, not the Powell Symphony Hall. The conductor was amazed at the turn-out in the natural hill arena in front of the art museum facing the lake and golf course. Despite the rain, the park... More

The Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO) is among the best orchestras in the world---and they are recognized for their excellence, choices of music, musicians, and the current Music Director, David Robertson. Enough cannot be said about the level of music we enjoy in Saint Louis. And the SLSO now has plenty of options for attending a variety of concerts so... More

Loved my recent trip to the St. Louis Orchestra performance of Bee Gees music. It was the perfect performance for my family and me to celebrate our combined love of classical and pop music. Given the audience size and expressed appreciation, I would say there are many other people who felt the same way.

As a professional classical musician, I have made an effort to see the major orchestras in person, multiple times (vienna, Berlin, New York, concertgebouw). SLSO stands among this group any day without a doubt. Best part: the tickets are affordable, and the programs are diverse. Robertson and the musicians are amongst the finest in the world. Needless to say, Powell... More

Don't forget the pops concerts - Powell Symphony Hall isn't just for classical music! The SImply Sinatra concert was incredible - one of the most enjoyable performances we've seen (anywhere!) in a very long time!

We visited St. Louis and were treated to a terrific performance of the SLSO, David Robertson (music director), and guest performers playing Dvorak and new music as well. We see a lot of orchestras, and this one is superb, based on our March experience. Powell Hall is a beautiful venue. What a lucky city! And in the "off season," Robertson... More

We took my father to see the St. Louis Symphony and singer Steve Luppia - sings Frank Sinatra songs. We are symphony fans, and when we decided to buy tickets for this show we had no idea just how good Steve would be. Let's just say that my 82 year old father was thrilled. The symphony paired well with this... More

Have enjoyed visiting Powell Hall in the Grand Arts District for over a decade to hear the SLSO perform classical, pops, & holiday music. In fact, I have them to, in part at least, thank for my love of classical music, as one of the first performances I attended was Mahler 2, truly one of the most stirring pieces of... More

Beautiful venue, wonderful sound, fantastic performers! My husband and I have season passes and go at least six times a year. It is a great way to spend the evening. They do a good job with a variety of music - something for everyone
