The quality of the music by the St. Louis Symphony is first-rate. However, as is all too typical in my experience, their technical excellence is frequently marred by choosing off putting music, music that either no one has heard of or that is simply not very harmonic or pleasing to listen, such as, for example, ones with dissonant notes and... Whenever I get a chance, I recommend that people come see a symphony at Powell Hall. The building itself is a beautifully renovated space with a soaring lobby that I think is fun to visit in itself and, while I am admittedly not an experienced connoisseur of classical music, I always think the orchestra sounds amazing. In the past, I... More

We have season tickets and sometimes I feel tired and consider not going to the symphony. But we almost always do go, and I always am happy that we did. The Saint Louis Symphony never fails to reward its audience with top-quality, stirring performances. It truly is an uplifting experience.

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra is one of St. Louis' best attractions. The musicians are very passionate about the music, and it shows in their performance. The orchestra plays a verity of symphonic music, that there is truly something for everyone. You can hear them perform music from classical composers, such as Bach and Beethoven, to modern composers, such as... More

In fact, the St Louis Symphony has more Grammys than any other musical organization, and every one of them MORE than well earned! Technical perfection combined with heartfelt virtuosity makes for an unbeatable combination for decades! If you miss this one, it's definitely YOUR LOSS!

Begin with the fact that the SLSO is a world class organization and recognize that this is an extraordinarily innovative collection of talent. And then give it a try. Go online for SLSO and, without question, you will find a program that interests you. Once you've found your target, expand your horizons and give it a try. You'll be amazed!

On Father's Day, we took my father to see the Cary Hoffman and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Frank Sinatra is Cary Hoffman's idol, and Cary took us through his own life experiences - experiences that were influenced by Frank Sinatra. The performance was fantastic. My father was thrilled with the entire performance and expressed that he would love to... More

My wife and I have been going to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for almost 50 years. They have many varied and wonderful programs so the choices are numerous and will satisfy any symphonic music taste. They also regularly have top quality soloists from all over the world. There are many solo performances on violin, piano, cello, and many other... More
