Owner description: Don’t take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We’re four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there’s the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge. Finally, just so you’re aware, The World Aquarium is not part of City Museum, but a non-profit located within us. There is an additional charge to go in their space.

This place was great... a definite adult playground! I can see that it could be stressful and potentially dangerous taking several children there, but they would love it. So incredibly creative... like nothing I've seen before!

If you are looking for a place that excercises your kids and both yours and their imaginations, this is the place. This is the neatest museum of local artifacts, creatively designed and constructed into functioning pieces of art and entertainment. Its a must see. Wear your casual clothes and prepare to participate in exploring very creative works of art.

I don't know how to explain the City Museum to anyone who hasn't been there. And nobody really managed to explain to me before I had been there. It is like nothing else really. I went there without kids and although I am sure my kids would have loved it here, it was really really fun for adults as well!... More

There is so much to do and see here! Where do I start? How about at the door when I meet Scott. Super friendly guy who runs the place, let me know of all the fun things to do. Basically the rule of the place is, if you want to do it, DO IT!!! Climb, touch, play, see everything you... More

While I think the City Museum can be an educational place to take kids... and while there are a lot of interactive things to do... there isn't much difference between it and my basement.... so if you want to, you can pay me an admission fee and come and rummage around my damp, dank, dark collection of junk. Seriously, it's... More

The aquarium was so sad! The tanks are dirty and scratched. The spaces are small for most of the animals. The sea turtles looked sick and so sad. It was a big is disappointment and part of our $18 to see it and the museum. The bunnies just had a box to sleep in and some of the animals were... More

I took my kids there, and my biggest complaint is that it is not very safe. Also, while we were there, someone spit down into the ball pit. My other complaint is the price! $48.00 for my family and no discounts.

This converted shoe factory is a blast! Don't let the name fool you, it is really a big indoor/outdoor playground filled with "art" creatures and creations built out of various found materials. Caves, chutes, slides, swings, tunnels and more. We spent about 3 hours and didn't cover it all. Definitely worth the extra fee to go to the roof top... More
