Description: Don’t take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls...
Don’t take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We’re four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there’s the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge. Finally, just so you’re aware, The World Aquarium is not part of City Museum, but a non-profit located within us. There is an additional charge to go in their space.

My grandchildren loved this place and I know why. It's loaded with fun things to explore, multi-story slides, caves, tunnels, a petting aquarium...and much more. However, it is VERY noisy with lots of kids screaming with sheer delight...but that makes it hard to hear any child that may be lost and crying out. And, there are MANY places for a... More

Had out ending conference reception here and it was totally great! Just the chance to climb the stairs and do the five floor slide was worth the visit - but then doing a bit of a work out and acting like a kid through the outdoor maze was amazing. Loved it. Yes, it clearly is a perfect place for kids... More

This place is a giant playground for kids and adults wishing they were still kids. We've taken our kids here many times and always seem to find something new. Lots to explore and play here.

We visited the city museum with our 4 year old daughter. We were a little worried that there wouldn't be enough for her age group to keep her entertained, but that was definitely not the case. The first level has a sort of "forest" where you can crawl up, around and through the whole entire area... So awesome! We did... More

This place is amazing! It has underground "caves" to walk/crawl around in. There are ropes to swing on and slides galore, and there's even huge indoor trees to climb around. You can also crawl under the ground in tunnels! Let's not forget MonstroCity outside. Who doesn't love to climb in airplanes and slide down into real firetrucks! I love this... More

To many lawsuits and Oceana complaints.. Feel this is a unsafe place for kids. Sharpe edges on things and not bolted down properly. Would not bring my family to this.

This is a place where kids roam free and test themselves -- crawling through tunnels, zipping down multi-story slides, climbing along catwalks. We have West Coast friends and family who think the City Museum is the best reason of all to come to St. Louis, and let their 5 year old roam pretty freely. We have other family members who... More

Wished we had more time to explore the City Museum. A great spot for adults, teens, and kids. Part playground, part urban museum. Well worth the visit.
