This is not a museum for adults - but spectacular for kids. We were wishing our grandkids were with us and kept saying, "wouldn't so-and-so love this?"
While planning our trip to St. Louis, I glanced through City Museum's website. I really wasn't sure if it was the kind of place two grown people could go to without kids and not get funny looks. I was so glad we decided to check it out! We were transformed into kids ourselves!! We climbed around, went down the slides,... More
I think this was our 4th visit to the City Museum. On our first trip, my daughters were about 8 and 6; they are now 13 and 11. They still love it! We have family in Southern Illinois, but we would make an occasional trip from Chicago to go to the City Museum. This is a place for ACTIVE fun.... More
We took two boys, 5 & 6 for their birthdays and they had a blast. They loved the tunnels and mazes. We didn't do the aquarium, but my sister did and said it was not worth the extra money. Will definitely go back this summer when the roof is open.
we took the grand kids and had a great time. you need to have a lot of time to injoy this attraction. there is so many things to do and see one of the best finds for kids, adults love it too. we were there 5hr and did not see it all. 11/30/13
This place is fantastic. Great for young and old alike. Make sure your kids wear good sneakers and long pants for all the climbing, sliding, "caves", etc. It is called a museum, but actually it is an indoor/outdoor "playground". There is so much to explore here it boggles your mind! The man who built this place was a genius, not... More
Do not know how to best describe the City Museum. It is really more like an indoor/outdoor amusement park. Everyone from 5 yo on up would enjoy some aspect of the City museum. Best to go online for a full description of what to empect.
On a visit to St. Louis, DO NOT miss the City Museum. Invented by artist/entrepreneur/creative visionary Bob Cassily. This place rocks with energy! Everything here is available to touch, feel, and climb. Using an old but substantial downtown warehouse as his canvas, and architectural treasures from the past, present and future (?) as the paint, Cassily created one of the... More
This is a very unique place to take kids, even teenagers. Around every turn is something different, a new adventure. I love the eclectic feel of this building and how they honor architecture.
