Owner description: Don’t take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We’re four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there’s the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge. Finally, just so you’re aware, The World Aquarium is not part of City Museum, but a non-profit located within us. There is an additional charge to go in their space.

City Museum is an amazing place. Our entire family loves it so much that visiting here is pretty much a requirement anytime we come to the St. Louis area. This is not a museum in the traditional sense but a real study in ways to re-purpose, recycle & reuse all sorts of items, from very small (like little gear wheels... More

Kids and adults of all ages will find this museum so much fun. I has lots of things to play with and explore. It is the strangest museum I think you will ever visit. There is a 3 story slide, a bus that is higher than the building. A cave that is built out of mosaics and so much more.... More

This is always the top of my list for out-of-towners. If you can only visit one place, choose this one. It's truly a one of a kind place. Great for people of all ages. And you can't beat the rooftop.

This is not to be missed! We thought we would visit this place as it was raining and we were looking for some indoor attractions. From arrival to leaving we were all amazed with what we saw in there. We had suspected that the museum was more a kids attraction but we were so wrong. There really is something in... More

City Museum is awesome. Great time for young and old alike. The art and vision of the creator, Robert Cassilly Jr is outstanding and knows no limits. A must visit.

Some friends took us here and I was a little nervous, however this place was fun. It is great for adult as well as children 5 and up. The are slides and caves that take you to hidden areas. It seems that there are path every where to crawl through. Be sure to eat some light before you go because... More

I cannot believe there is a place like this and I haven't been there until my late 30's. Just wife and I, needed something to do and decided City Museum sounded unique and fun. It was that to say the least. It was crowded the day we went but didn't feel crowded which is great. It was cool to see... More

My kids (and we parents) love this museum. We've been there on two different trips (plus with my nieces before kids). It is amazingly inventive and endlessly fun. The climbing and exploring never stop. This last time we discovered a whole area (9 floors of climbing up and sliding down) that we never knew existed. The activities and art combine... More

For a day of fun for kids of ages, this is the place, that is, if you like crawling, climbing, sliding all over. Only reason I didn't give it 5/5 is , I wasn't warned to bring knee pads (hey, I'm a big kid! at heart ) kids that love tunnels, tubes, forts and tree house style excitement , will... More

We've visited the City Museum 4 times now. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. Every time we look forward to seeing our favorite things and every time we find many new things. The staff is friendly, the food is good and the price fair. This the most unique place I have ever been - I... More
