Description: Don’t take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls...
Don’t take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We’re four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there’s the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge. Finally, just so you’re aware, The World Aquarium is not part of City Museum, but a non-profit located within us. There is an additional charge to go in their space.

I've been to City Museum a bunch - usually with out of town guests. There is tons to see and do to keep everyone occupied. Be sure to wear tennis shoes and shorts or pants. It's a bit awkward navigating in a skirt or sandals if participating in the action. Keep in mind that it is easy for kids to... More

In this day and age it is hard to find something different to do in various cities. It seems they all have aquariums, sky hikes, amusement parks, movies, and etc. NO place though has something like the City Museum in St. Louis! Words cannot do justice to this place. Picture a building the size of a Wal-Mart. Make it four... More

My boyfriend and I traveled to St. Louis for a weekend getaway and we decided to visit the museum. I was hesitant at first seeing all of the children here, but I think we had just as much fun as the kids did! There are so many things to see, but more importantly things to do! We were pushed outside... More

We went to the museum for the trade show and is was awesome. Looking from the outside it is huge and it looks just as big on the inside. There is a lot for the kids to do. You can climb in the caverns and go to the roof and explore there also. If you are afraid of heights I... More

The city museum is basically a giant steampunk playground. There are very few collections as you would find in an ordinary museum. Instead, the main attraction is the Cave of Wonders a gaudy (but dark) maze, where I would expect some kids were lost never to be found again. The Cave leads up to the main attraction, the 10-floor slide.... More

What can I say? A ten story slide, caves, trees, metal art that you can climb on. Great Pizza Place called Samwiches. Kids had an awesome time. We were there for five hours and did not get to venture through everything.

We had an awesome time in City Museum. There is so much to do and explore. It's fun for kids and adults. It is absolutely the best place for kids we ever visited!

This might be the coolest place ever! Yes, you need to keep little kids close since it is easy to get separated. My family spent all day here and would of came back a second day if time allowed. I have never seen anything like it. Its like The house on the rock and a playground combined. If you are... More

This place is great fun for kids 4 and older. Most parents can enjoy most of the facility. Tubes, tunnels, slides and all kinds of things to climb. I had two 11 year old girls with me. We were there from 9:30 to 4:30. To get the most out of this, plan for at least 4 hours.

Worth the trip. 3 stories of welded industrial equipement, most of it outdooes, planes, rebars. Tunnels, slides, climbs.. with a little education pepered in. Adults can follow, but you need to be nimble. I followed my 8 years old and kept explaning where all the stuff came from. Like rollers (used in factories), rebars, the various parts of places, etc..... More
