Interesting bit of history

Not a very large place, it won't take you long to visit. But interesting, nonetheless. Located adjacent to the Patee House museum (which is a must see).

My family and I visited this museum because my dad is a huge Jesse James fanatic (not his crimes but he watches TV shows about him). It turned out to be interesting for the whole family as we saw the bullet hole from the bullet that killed Jesse James, some photographs and portraits of him, an 1880's bedroom , etc.... More

This is a great stop to make if your in the area and are really into old western history. To be in the house where Jesse James once lived and was killed in is something. Its small being a two room home but great to visit. A small admission fee for some great information and great things to see. We... More

This four room home has been relocated next door to the Patee House Museum (must-see!) and is a quick peek into history. For a small fee, you can see, in quick order, the history of Jesse James and hear about his sad death. Moral? Don't turn your back on anyone especially if you are the Most Wanted Man in the... More

Our church group visited the Patee Musuem and the James Home is attached. Didn't take long to go thru as it was a very small house. Loved all the portraits of Jesse James showing his age progression.

Great story behind the old house and what had happened to Jesse James as he stood on the chair to straighten a picture! Too bad the bullet hole had been whittled out long ago, but interesting to see non the less. Not a long tour because the house is small, but plenty of history to see. Bits and pieces of... More

Right outside the Patee museum. The original home Jesse James was shot in. It had lots of information and pictures of interest. Kind of a high fee for such a small place.

The house and museum are a great piece of history. Showing you a look into his life and into the home Jesse grew up in. Also close by is a restaurant with good food. Come visit our little town. we have history all over town.

The host was nice but a little quirky. They play an audio tape for which you have to stay in 1 room to listen to instead of having a guide. There are only 4 rooms. A lot of the items are not original. Its neat looking at the front of the house that faces the museum otherwise not much there.

Their are som neat things here. Like a love seat with a back on one side to force the girl to sit close, some naughty boot removers and of course the usual collection of western and Jesse stuff
