This place is a newer attraction to St. Joseph with a lot to see and do. Great displays throughout the place. Timeline of St. Joseph walk thru is pretty interesting with a lot of locally donated items. Rocks/ Artifacts exhibit shows a lot of different forms of rocks and Indian artifacts found in the area. Nice size aquarium located next... More

My daughter has had a horrible fear of bees. I took her to the nature center to hopefully educate her about these insects. She was able to see a bee hive first hand, and thanks to the knowledgable staff, learn about the importance of bees in nature. Thanks to this visit, my daughter now considers herself a 'bee expert'! This... More

Explore the local history and geography of the area surrounding St. Joseph and along the Missouri River. From the fish in the river (and on display in the huge aquarium with feeding times posted) to the huge Mammoth that greats you at the door! Local native American along with western and trading history can be seen.

My 2 children and I had a GREAT time. I did not know if my 3 year old would be impressed with walking around looking at exhibits. But after being greeted by life size Mammoths resembling "manny and peaches" my fears were quickly put to rest. Very engaging. LOVED it!

This afternoon we had our grandson's fifth birthday party at Remington Nature Center. The staff was wonderful to work with and everyone who attended had a great time. They brought in animal pelts to see how many the children could identify, they played two games with them, let them make a nature craft, and had Remi their woolly mammoth mascot... More

Right on the Missouri River with incredible displays of local items of interest. This is a "gotta see" if passing through Saint Joseph. They have regular programs for children and many artifacts that I could spend hours viewing.

I was referred to the Remington Nature Center by a friend who recommended their display about the early history of the Saint Joseph area. I enjoyed that exhibit, indeed, but found that the Remington Nature Center has much more to offer than I expected. A modern building with all the amenities, the exhibits are very well presented and the documentation... More

If you like barbed wire they have one of the bigger collections that I have ever seen. They are right on the river. It's a great place to walk outside & flat & mostly shaded. Inside there are some fun footprint games that you can play for free. Outside keep young kids close, they can easily fall into the MO... More

Dear TaushaTaylor: On behalf of the Remington Nature Center, I apologize that you did not enjoy your experience with us more. We do try very hard to make all of our guests have a wonderful time. The Remington Nature Center is located near the Missouri River, but we do not directly maintain the River Walk area. While we do try... More

This is a neat museum with a lot of Missouri wildlife and St Joseph history featured. I recommend it to anyone who has school aged children and an hour or two. The gift shop is excellent.
