Most of St. Joseph's history is stuffed in this old hotel with the porch once trod by Abraham Lincoln AND Jack Palance. At least twice-moved, outlaw Jesse James' last house is located around back. Something for everyone. Full size locomotive, tender, and baggage car inside museum. Period storefronts with nice collection of antiques in each one. Carousel for children to ride. Old fashion post office and display of pony express mail station. Worth a morning or afternoon of your time. Pony Express stable close by.

A real trip back in time and it also offers a lot of entertainment for kids as well as adults. I liked the second floor boll room.

Pretty big museum that has a scavenger hunt. Didn't seem to be a lot to do in the town but if you are passing by on I-29 it's worth the slight detour to check out.

If you are in this area don't miss this great museum. History comes alive here. Every inch of this building has something to look at or learn about. No space unwasted. The collections are the main street of old st jo, train car, area used by provost judge in the civil war era, western person hall of fame, carnival display... More

This was a very neat place. The game find the mistake in the display was great. Beware you have to pay separately for Jesse James House which is very inconvenient. They should combine

We spent over 3 hours here and that was just looking at things and taking photos. If you have a love for the old west, you must go here? They had a little game you could play for a quarter that in 20 of their exhibits something didn't belong and if you get 16 correct, you get a prize. We... More

Great time with grandkids. Lots for them to do and see. They enjoyed the salon and having drinks and the player .
