We stopped here with the grandkids to entertain them on a cloudy afternoon. Small fee to go in & look around but staff made it fun for the kids by having them scavenger hunt for animals on display. Interesting exhibits but doesn't take too long. The boys (aged 7) had a good time looking for animals to cross off their... More

Fun & educational place to take the kids for a hands on experience of what it was like in Lewis & Clark's day. Combine this with lunch on the landing/Main Street or another St. Charles outing because it won't fill your day.

This is in the end of the park off of Main Street, but its worth stopping for a short look if you're into history. $5 to see part of the museum, the whole thing is rather small and doesn't seem worth it. Alot of replica items, but still worth spending a few minutes if you like Lewis and Clark.

We had a little trouble finding the center. It is called the "Lewis & Clark Boat House and Nature Center". A merchant told us that it was on the main street & this was incorrect. The visitor's center helpled us out and we found it a few minutes later. The theater shows a video that has been on television many... More

We came to check out the museum here...it is more geared for kids but I enjoyed the history lessons learned as well. It has a little gift shop with interesting items to purchase. If you are a Lewis and Clark history buff you will want to be sure to include this stop in your travels.

Staffed by we assumed volunteers, they were so nice and helpful, lots of history here and many things to see right on the river, plenty of parking and easy to get to even though it is in an out of the way place. Very clean rest rooms. Great little gift shop, the replica boats on the lower level are great... More

Even though the center is small it is still fun for the kids. My daughter liked it as they give you a sheet of things that they have to find and mark off the sheet. When they have found everything they win a little prize. I enjoyed the informative film .

I have to add that this a great place to take your kids if you are a home schooler. The exhibits help with an understanding of the Lewis and Clarke expedition.

This is a nice little museum with a very nice gift shop. The selection and prices were very good. They have done a nice job with the museum, albiet small. Kids will definately enjoy it. It is right on the Missouri river at the point where Lewis and Clark began their journey West.
