Not only is the cave breathtaking, but the owners are the most kind and generous people. I have visited here a couple of times and each was filled with beauty, fun, and adventure for our family. It is so easy to get around and the guides really know their local history. They are also people of great moral value who... More

I took my elderly parents to this cave in conjunction to a Springfield/Branson, MO trip. Out of 3 caves including Marvel Cave at SDC, this was my favorite. The guide was very knowledgeable of the cave, the history, and it did have amazing creatures! Age of family members 30's and 70's. Easy walking. Great for, elderly, families and folks with... More

We wanted to do a cave tour during our trip to Branson but didn't want to do a big "commercialized" cave like fantastic caverns or the one at silver dollar city. This one fit the bill as it was smaller and locally owned. The price is cheaper than the rest as well. Since we came fairly early in the season,... More

My husband and I went on the Wild tour. It was such a great time! It was about an hour and a half and you get to go off the main path and really experience the cave. It was beautiful and incredibly interesting. If you have time and a small group that likes to see a cave out of the... More

We took 55 high school students for a tour (spring 2015) and they enjoyed seeing that our class content actually had real world applications. The tour guides were willing to adapt their talk to the group and I will communicate more with them in the future because they can give me exactly what my kids need. The students did think... More

Perhaps it was the small group, perhaps it was because it is the off-season; whatever the reason, this was one of the best cave tours I have ever done. It was also not strenuous (like Marvel Cave, etc.) which my chubby out-of-shape self appreciated. The guide, Dennis, was great at explaining everything and showing us neat things, like the starfish... More

I would have given this a firewall rating most likely if it wasn't for the "civil war" moniker they so blatantly and commercially slapped on the name to attract the interest of civil war historians and the like. Yes there is a slight connection to the civil war as parties did use the cave and surrounding area during the conflict,... More

Great caving experience and for us Old Geezers; no stairs or uphill climbing. The cave is on one level, which makes it great for strollers, young children and wheelchairs. Our guide was very knowledgeable in regards to the cave and local history. My wife and I enjoyed our tour very much. We are both glad that we took the time... More

We just went on a lantern tour and loved it. The guides were very hospitable and knowledgeable. We have been to the cave during the day on a tour and loved it also. You can't go wrong with a daytime or nighttime tour. Every time we have been we have come away wanting to go again. Worth the price and... More

We went on a lantern tour of the Smallin Cave last night. It was beautiful and interesting to visit. The history--the fossils--the cave critters. Everything. Completely accessible also for all ages and physical abilities.
