This place is great to visit any time of the year, but my favourite is making the drive along Lakeridge Road in the fall colours, having butter tarts or warm pie and all the great fall produce you could possibly want. Also love their preserves - year round jams, pickles and their mixed potted planters in the spring.

I only recently discovered Hy-Hope farm while visiting long-lost family this past Canadian Thanksgiving. The views are stunning, the food is delicious, simple and hearty. My only wish is that I had heard about it sooner! I will be back to go tobogganing as soon as the snow flies ;D And everyone is correct, those butter tarts are to die... More

On your way north if you happen to travel up Lakeridge Road/Durham Road 23, you must stop at Hy Hope farms. They make the best Butter Tart's. The pastry is crunchy and flakey. I've converted more than a few friends. A must try :)
