I did this in 5th grade (so not OCT 2013) with a class trip and I remember it like it was yesterday!!! What a blast!! If you've got kids and you're traveling to KC, bring them! I loved making crayon art! Melting the crayons was tons of fun!

Our girls had a great time at Kaleidoscope. We spent about an hour and a half but could have easily spent more time there. The room offered puzzle making, decorate a frame, watercolor, and creative supplies to make your own creation. A great experience watching the children's imagination become reality.

If you have children and find yourself in Kansas City, one place to consider visiting is Kaleidoscope. A fun place that stresses creativity, Kaleidoscope affords the children a place to roam around and make different crafts, all at no charge to parents. Kaleidoscope is a great idea on the part of Hallmark, the large card- making company headquartered next door.... More

This has to be the best place to take young children! It gets a little wild with so many little people running around but I never had a problem keeping up with mine with the open layout. Parking is often free at Crown Center so check before you visit. Even when it isn't free parking you just have to get... More

Kaleidoscope wasn't around when my kids were little but my grandchildren certainly have enjoyed it. When I have them on a Saturday and we are down at Crown Center we stop for an hour at kaleidoscope and they get their chance to be creative. We always leave with a bag of goodies and satisfied children.

This is a fantastic place go take the kids and it us free. They really enjoy making things and doing it themselves.

My son is almost 10, so at the upper end of the age recommendation. But it was still a fun place to visit for 40 minutes, and he loves the cards, bookmarks, and puzzle he created. For younger kids, especially, a fun - and free! - place to visit in KC.

We'd heard of Kaleidoscope but didn't know what to expect. We showed up one afternoon and attempted to get tickets. Fortunately we were successful. Our kids, ages 7 and 5, loved it. Their only disappointment was that it only lasted 40 minutes. Hard to complain about something that's completely free and a high-quality activity for kids, but if I could... More

As a guy, I had no idea what this place was like. Since it is in Crown Center, you know Hallmark has something to do with this. Well imagine all those people making cards all day and the stuff they throw away ends up in this other worldly room of yarn, shiny cardboard, letters, tape, and sparkles. Women that scrapbook... The people at Kaleidoscope were so kind and helpful. The kids loved making things to take home. What a great way to recycle scraps from Hallmark cards.
