You cant miss this library with its over-sized books decocrating the adjacent garage to this formidable building. Inside, we visited the genealogical archives and were helped by staff to locate directories. They have microfilm and digital films available for those trying to find ancestors. The library itself is really attractive and impressive, conveying a really appreciation for books. I was... More

Really a nice setting for the downtowners ... all are welcome and I like that.I live in the 'burbs so have a Mid Continent card but also have a KC Library card for access to their collections, streaming music, and use of their internet for times I'm downtown in need of a place to hang for an hour or so.

“This library is absolutely gorgeous. They have put it in a historical old bank, complete with a vault and everything. The selection of book is phenomenal and the library staff is so helpful. I honestly don’t have any complaints when coming to this library. I love the peacefulness and the way you can get lost in the aisles of books.... More

The Kansas City Public Library is a fantastic library. It offers a large variety of books for people of all ages and has a large children's section. Along with having a great selection of books, the librarians are extremely helpful and nice. They are great for helping find books and anything else you may need. All in all, this library... More

If you love libraries, this is a great place to visit one. My daughter and I were a bit confused, as the big books are actually on the parking garage across the street, and we walked around, finally had to ask where the library was. The building is beautiful, renovations have been really well done. we went up to the... More

Lovely inside and out. Truly a refuge. Been awhile since I've been there but there was a coffee shop in there when I was there and the parking garage exterior is fun! I'll leave that as a surprise but you won't mistake it!

I always visit libraries when I travel and this is one of the nice ones. My granddaughter had never been to this library so I was happy to stop in so she could see what it was like. We both love to read so it was a good choice for us.
