The pictures of what looks like books on a shelf is the outside of the parking structure. The library itself is very open, and actually very empty. I don't think this is a really destination in Kansas City, but we did use the restrooms and they were very nice and clean.

I attended a book talk and was very favorably impressed by the turn out. The wine and veggie appetizers were an unexpected treat. KC is fortunate to have such a good library! I particularly got a kick out of the giant mural of books on a shelf with their titles on the block adjacent to the library. They like reading... More

The library is a beautiful facility and worked great for an after-lunch meeting with coworkers. The Board room was perfect for our group of 10.

The KC Public Library is housed in renovated bank building in what is now called the Library District. In fact, there is a self guided walking tour (see the library's website for a pdf) of this area which highlights the aesthetic and majestic architecture - see everything from Neo-Classical structures to Modernistic buildings of the Post WWII era. Inside the... More

We visited the downtown central library in Kansas City on a two week vacation trip, looping up to Omaha for the zoo, and on to Chicago for a convention.
