We've been to many both in the U.S. and abroad, and this one is in the top tier. Safdie was the architect, and renowned sound expert Yasuhisa Toyoda did the acoustics design. Expert reviewers compare it to the Disney hall in L.A. (considered a "sister" hall). If you have a chance to catch a performance in either of its two... More

I've been to some of the most famous performing arts venues in the world (Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Sydney Opera House, Bavarian State Opera, etc.) and the Kauffman Center ranks among the very best. The acoustics, especially in Helzberg Hall, are wonderful -- the sound is wonderful. When artists like Yo Yo Ma, Juan Diego Florez, and Wynton Marsalis come... More

Great building, but not my thing. You must really appreciate art to want to go here and enjoy it. This is something you can bypass and not feel like you're missing anything.

One of the nicest places to enjoy almost any performance in Kansas City. The artistic beauty of the building shows on the outside and inside alike. Be sure to add this to your list of places to check out while in KC, and if it is possible don't pass up a chance to catch a performance there. You will not... More

WOW! the outside does not do this place justice. The inside is simply gorgeous and eclectic! From an opera, to symphony to a comedy show, the acoustics are perfect and the charm is addicting!

A beautiful venue! I'll be first to admit that we aren't your typical ballet/symphony crowd, but I have always wanted to go. We recently took advantage of the Kansas City Symphony's collaboration with Ben Folds to check the place out with something that we were really interested in. Our seats were in the Mezzanine which is on the sides of... More

The building is beautiful inside and out. So much space inside made we wonder after concert, why is there only on set of stairs to the main exit. I felt like a bunch of cattle entering the cattle shoot.

We were visiting friends in Kansas City, and they generously took us to a show at the Kauffman Center. Presumably, the shows there have their own review areas, so my comments are about the facility itself, which was terrific. First, the staff was welcoming and friendly, from (convenient) parking to walking out the door. Despite the now-requisite security checks, they... More

I grew up in the area, so I was delighted when the show I was working on got to play a weekend at the Kauffman. It is one of the most beautiful facilities in the country, both inside and out. There is nothing quite like the view of the sunset against the skyline from the lobby floor to ceiling windows!

My wife and I attended a symphony concert here. There are 2 facilities in 1 building, the Helzberg Hall and the Kauffman Theater,..This Safdie designed building is only a few years young,, but it is spectacular Acoustics and viewing are excellent from any seat. Highly recommend going there if you enjoy the program that evening.
