I've been to a lot of places and heard a lot of music, but for atmosphere, quality of music and people, the Foundation is absolutely the best ever. Go Friday and Saturday nights after midnight for the jams. Just freaking gorgeous. More

One of the two choices to go in Kansas City when the bars close up at 3am (the other being the boats). You pay a "donation" for everything: entry, food, beer. Don't ask, don't tell applies here. Damn near BEST jazz music in town. Stay until sun comes up. Crowd mostly white and upper middle class. About a block south... More

this is it!there is no better jazz jam in the world than @ MMF on saturday night. the atmosphere is contemporary, but the vibe is as real as it gets.this joint is worth the trip from anywhere.all types acceptedcasual dress2-6 am saturdays$5 donation. More
