I have been to some great zoos, and I think the Kansas City Zoo may have just moved to the number one spot. I was weary of a $12.50 admission price, but it was totally worth it! We went in the morning, and the animals were up and moving around. The polar bear exhibit at the front was very entertaining... More

Stayed to closing. Had a lot of fun. Enjoyed the animals and rides. One of the better zoos that I have been too. Especially liked the polar bear exhibit.

Ive been to some pretty good zoos in my life (London zoo, Dublin zoo, Edinburgh zoo, montogmery zoo, DC zoo) this one was just average. the layout is pretty bad, and it is limited. the best exhibit was probably the penguins and polar bears

My wife and I were visiting our daughter, son-in-law and our 22 month old grandson in Kansas City. A zoo trip was the choice of the day. What a great time! Riding the train and the tram kept the length of the walking trails to a manageable amount for the toddler. Jackson and Clay county residents receive a special discount... More

This is a huge zoo and very well maintained. It is like a huge park that is shaded and lets you get up close to animals. The penguin exhibit was excellent . Many cooling fans around and the sky lift is an awesome way to see the animals and get you off your feet. Everyone we encountered working there was... More

I will say that from the looms of things they may be trying to make improvements but the layout is terrible you walk forever only to see the best animals from a great distance through three layers of netting and chain link. Definitely should invest in the reinforced glass. The penguin exhibit and polar bear at the very front will... More

Fantastic place to visit. The new penguin exhibit is wonderful. The weather was hot but they had cooling fans out for everybody to use.

I hadn't been for a few years and was meeting my friend with her boys. They were from out of town and the boys were 3 and 8 yrs. I decided to purchase the platinum Friends of the Zoo membership as recommended by the gal up front at the gate. It was worth it! unlimited rides on all the trams,... More

Big, clean with new exhibits... The animals seem happy. I couldn't find decent, healthy food, so bring your own picnic if you want healthy.

Wonderful time together with the grandkids. We were never bored with all the new and older exhibits. Great to have the train ride to make you way all around the zoo. We have to go back again.
