My wife and I stopped in for an afternoon while visiting KC recently. I was really surprised at how big this zoo was. The more modern displays were really well done. The polar bear exhibit in particular was great. We showed up at the same time as a large collection of school kids (6 buses worth), but the zoo is... More

Great setting - fun decorations and themed events for the upcoming Halloween holiday. Enjoyed the sky ride, boat, train and tram. The train was a huge hit with my son. Penguin exhibit was educational and fun and the polar bears were amazing. Only not so hot item was the food - not good at all. Park is huge and I... More

The zoo is a bit confusing to navigate around and they could use more signs to clearly identify directions to the various areas. Even the map they supply when entering is not the greatest. Other than the navigation issue it is a nice zoo to visit.

Until this weekend, I had no idea that Kansas City had a zoo. It was a pleasant discovery. The zoo is much larger than I expected, and a walk from the front gate to the back of the Africa region is a hike. Fortunately, for those who tire easily, they offer trams and trains and even ski lifts to move... More

went recently with our 1 year old daughter. we had a good time. It would have been nice to see the Cheetah, but there isn't a lot the zoo can do about that. Its is small enough to see pretty much the whole place in a day, but big enough to focus on one part at a time and visit... More

It was interesting that the zoo was organized by country. The back-flipping polar bear is very entertaining.

My husband and I have been to this zoo twice while visiting KC. We really enjoyed it both times! We made this our first family vaca with our new baby girl and had to take her to the zoo. Beware this time of year apparently they have a BAD yellow jacket problem. They were in the parking lot and around... More
