Our family loved it.

We spent a couple hours here and loved it. A great story of some men who followed their dream. And an amazing collection of well-preserved artifacts.

What wonderful archeology was done to bring so many otherwise fragile items to the surface of the Missouri River. Unfortunately I didn't have sufficient time to take in so much of what was on show. If you're interested in the old river transport ships, give yourself several hours to absorb the great exhibition.

I had never heard the story about the Arabia, and am not much of a history buff, but a friend formerly from the KC area said that this was a MUST-see when in town, so I took my teenaged daughter and her BFF to the museum. This is one of the most fascinating places I've ever visited! I want to... More

The Steamship Arabia Museum says it has the largest collection of pre-Civil War artifacts. I don't doubt it. Most museums display one of this, one of that. This museum has stacks of plates, barrels of nails, walls of shoes --- thousands of artifacts in all that tell an amazing story of what life was like in this area in 1856.... More

Absolutely fascinating! Wonderful glimpse into the past...the story of the salvage of the Arabia is amazing. The cache of artifacts gives you an accurate glimpse into pre-Civil War mercantile supplies destined for settlements in the West.

We came here strictly because of all the high reviews and were not disappointed. The history of the steamboat and the effort taken to find and recover all of the contents is amazing. The vast amount of goods that were on the ship that are on display really gives you a rare opportunity to look back in time and see... More

This is an amazing Museum. Please take the time to go and enjoy. What a wonderful piece of history that is a well hidden secret!! Kudos to the family that describes the find of this treasure piece. You'll be charmed by their story of adventure and dedication that brought this to the public. From beautiful old china, to children toys,... More

It's been a while but this museum just keeps adding to an amazing collection. Family discovered the boat and has kept its contents intact (all a millions less than far-less extensive government attempts to do the same!). There is a small lab inside and the staff were incredibly accommodating for all of the questions. Although it would be easy spend... More

Our family of four, (10 and 14 year old children) stopped in for a tour of the Arabia. It was wonderful. If you are at all a history and buff, this is a must see. Awesome collection. Great story. Entertaining for all ages. Preservation still in process and you can see in action. One of the gentleman who was a... More

This Museum is the BEST I've ever seen. There should be 100 stars, not 5. I cannot explain the importance this Family has done in creating this Museum. The items, the stories, the history ... it's truly outstanding!! I owe a Huge Thank You to the Hawley Family. I also want to encourage everyone to get the book, "Treasure in... More
