I really wanted to like this museum but I just didn't have a good time. The guided tour segment just seemed too long to me. I would have rather gone through all of the museum by myself and skipped the guided tour part. I would not recommend for smaller children because they will become restless through the first part. It... More

We really enjoyed a tour of this museum! It's really amazing the items that have been recovered from this steamboat. And to think that the recovery was done with no monetary help from the government. It was all privately funded. Everything was first class and the guides are so well informed. You will not be sorry you went, I promise!

Loved our visit. Museum is very well done. We appreciate the time taken to restore and display each item, and the quantity of items is unbelievable. What a treasure to be able to see. One of the original men to find the steamboat and handle the escavation popped in after the video to answer questions. We were impressed.

When I told the family that we were going to check this out, no one was terribly excited. When we had completed the museum, everyone exclaimed how awesome it was! Our tour guide Janet was wonderful! The short movie about the discovery and recovery of the Arabia was very interesting and to our surprise, after the movie was over one... More

My boyfriend took me for a tour and I have to admit, I was thinking Oh NO! I thought it would be boring and I'm not really interested in those types of things - but I was pleasantly surprised. It was very interesting and I enjoyed looking at all the items recovered. It is amazing how much was recovered. The... More

It is pricey and the gift shop is filled with junk, but the actual museum is incredible. Our tour guide was awesome, the movie is good and the displays are excellent. It takes over an hour but it is worth it for sure.

This was our first visit to the museum and city market, both are next door to each other. Easy parking, plenty of space in the back, at least when we went. It is a easy guided tour for the most part you go on your own. This place is privately owned which I found to be quite interesting and the... More

We had no idea what we would experience when we toured the Arabia Steamboat Museum. What a find and a must see while in Kansas City. Good for families or singles. Great bit of history!

I would recommend stopping in the river market area and seeing the Arabia Steamboat Museum. If you're in Kansas City on a Saturaday, there is also the river market area will be open for business. There are many unique shops there, and great places to eat lunch.
