We were experiencing unusual warm weather this January day in Kansas City (60 degrees, sunny), and after visiting Union Station, decided it would be a shame to waste the remainder of this beautiful warm day. Loose Park is nearby, so we drove over to get some exercise. The park is lovely, with huge old trees (leafless in January!) throughout, and... More

If you enjoy any of the following, you'll enjoy visiting Loose Park Municipal Rose Garden. It's much more than roses (and the display of those is fantastic!). A small lake surrounded by shade trees and encircled by a walking path taking you past geese and swans. Beautiful brides - great for the photographer. Archways taking you through the various gardens... More

Lovely park within walking distance of Country Club Plaza which is on the site of the famous Westport battle in the Civil War. There is some really interesting information about the battle all around the park

I like this park. Well kept. Kids love it. Ducks are fat and happy. Bring lots of bread or crackers. Nice place to go any time of year.

This park is very pretty, the rose garden has had many weddings in the spring and summer. Some of the historical homes were used as hospitals during the Civil War. The artist Christo in the late 70's used the walkway to create wrapped art. Pretty during the day, be careful at night.

Although Loose Park is best during rose season, any day of the year can be a pleasurable stroll. There are walking and running paths, areas for dogs to run, and lots of walkways for strolling under arbors and flowers. I've loved Loose Park for many years, and recently I went there for an outside event, and it's still just as... More

Loose park is a great spot for everything, While it is a favorite of couples for weddings, you can use it to play with the kids, take a walk, or just grab a quick sneak and a kiss!! LOL

The main attraction of Loose Park is the Rose Garden, the Rose Society of Kansas City is its caretaker and a major renovation has just been completed. Grand fountain in the center with the restored walkway on the outer circle is all as it was in its original day. The bed have been replanted and many roses added. They are... More
