Such a beautiful building. It's s wonderful tribute to a beautiful state. We have been here several times and never tire of coming back. The architecture is awesome. It's amazing to think of the challenge of building this structure nearly 100 years ago.

Over the years I have been through Jefferson City many times but never had the chance to go inside the Capitol building so this was a real treat for me. I not only got to take in the beauty and history inside the building but also sat in on a Senate hearing and the House Speakers. It was very interesting... More

This is the most picturesque capitol I've seen! I went in wondered around but the best view is outside. Great history, cute town, eat at Madison's.

It's a pretty area but was disappointed in the capital. Really not much to do there but we did manage to find a fantastic restaurant.

I have been attempting to visit all 50 state capitols. The one in Jefferson City, Mo is near or at the bottom of my list (although I haven't completed all 50 yet). The exterior is quite ordinary--no brass or gold colored dome--just white stone--from base to the top. The House of Representatives was in session--and we were able to sit... More

This is a capitol building to be proud of. Beautiful murals thru out as well as fixtures, nice offices, cafeteria, etc. We went for lunch around Noon and so busy, but a worker came out with a cart with sandwiches, chips and drinks for sale which really helped.

The ground floor houses the state museum with revolving exhibits. Quite interesting. Be sure to take the free tour to see the many murals and especially the Thomas Hart Benton murals in the House Committee Room.

We wish we'd had more time, so we will come back with more time and get to see and enjoy much more. Everything from the outside grounds to each floor, nook and cranny and especially the interior dome area is awesome and gorgeous! We were stunned by the beauty on every level! You will be so glad you visited!

I wish we could have had a tour with adults as being with a group of elem. kids changed the type of tour it was. Great building.
