We had a guided tour with our school group. Great tour and fascinating visit. Make sure to sit in on a session of the house!

The museum and tour are very interesting, and the architecture is stunning. I would recommend going to look around even if you don't have time for a tour.

I loved visiting the state capitol building. There is a small museum on the first floor that was interesting to walk through but, I just loved milling around looking at the building itself. The stained glass ceiling was my favorite feature of the building. We spent several hours looking around. The whole building is pretty open to visitors. We will... More

It's not the most interesting place in the world, but it gets the job done as far as Missouri government and history are concerned. Make sure to take the free guided tour that leaves every hour from the front desk on the first floor.

Jefferson City is off the beaten path for most people not traveling through the center of the Show Me State, but a trip to the capitol is in order should you find yourself within striking distance. The grounds are attractive, as is the city itself, and the building is pretty nifty - top 10 state capitol building experience, in my... More

Have been a resident of Missouri nearly my entire life, and finally toured the Capitol! Was the only one who showed for the 4 p.m. tour, so felt like a VIP. Tour was very informative and the building is exquisite. It's said to be one of the most beautiful--if not THE most beautiful--state capitol buildings in the country and I'm... More

Excellent tour. The Missouri State Capitol building was chosen the "Most Beautiful Interior" by Sue Parks from USA today. There are the Thomas Hart Benton murals, statues, fountains, painted murals on the ceilings. Truly an amazing tour. And it's FREE.
