Never made it to the inside, just walked around the outside. The architecture was fantastic, very large building with statues all around. Parking is easy if you can find a space. You can see the building from lots of different areas around town. Just beautiful.

We came here while visiting family and love how much there is to do and see. There was a program for the kids to learn about nature (they had bats when we visited) which is why we made the stop. We also found that there is a museum here that had many wonderful exhibits and interactive displays for the kids.... More

Nice exhibits regarding the Civil War in Missouri and Natural History of the State. The building itself is beautiful with interesting features. You'll enjoy if you are into History.

The building is stunning and surrounded by lovely grounds with sculptures and a memorial area. Inside is chock full of interesting architectural features and more art. The day we were there we viewed an informative exhibit built around the Civil War era. There is no admission fee but you may leave a donation.

A nice out of the way capitol. If you get a chance to visit, please do! Not many visit Jefferson city, but a great historical town.

Located about 2 hours from Kansas City and about the same drive time from St Louis, this beautiful building is situated high atop the western bank overlooking the Missouri River. A short drive from the Columbia Regional airport and steps away from the Amtrak station, the Capitol houses a historical museum, intricate ironwork, expertly done sculptures, beautifully landscaped gardens and... Our State Capitol building is one of the most beautiful in the country. The architecture and history are amazing. The Thomas Hart Benton murals are breathtaking. If travel through Jefferson City, do not miss this!

As a Missouri resident I think we have a tendency to take for granted the beautiful and impressive Capitol building. The artwork and infrastructure is breathtaking. Add to that a complete tour from one of the guides and you can't help but walk away impressed. My favorite room is the House Lounge, also known as the Thomas Hart Benton gallery.

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Kelly! She gave an interesting and informative history of the Capitol. I especially enjoyed the room with the Thomas Hart Benton mural. Kelly was engaging with both children and adults. Your was free!
