Description: Puddleduck Vineyard is a small family Tasmanian Vineyard owned by Darren...
Puddleduck Vineyard is a small family Tasmanian Vineyard owned by Darren and Jackie Brown. We welcome you to taste our beautiful cool climate wine at our friendly cellar door, which is open from 10 - 5 daily. Whilst here you will probably meet Polly our wine dog, or Lucky or cellar door duck. Feel free to have a "Reverse BYO" (you supply the picnic food and we supply the beverages) to enjoy while in the area.

Very pleasant stop

This is a really pleasant winery with super friendly staff, a lovely outlook and very nice tassie wines. Definitely worth a stop on the way to Richmond.

Liked the name so thought we would stop in, very glad we did. Had a simple tasting at the bar (no charge if purchase wine). Nick looked after us and was knowledgeable and charismatic. Family owned and the wines were excellent, we bought a mixed case with free freight. Currently renovating and would be fantastic to sit on the deck... More

Nice wines, nice presentation - be ready to pay $15 per person for the tasting to be added to your purchases, not deducted as is usual - not mentioned but apparently written somewhere (not on the tasting notes). Can be a bit of a shock when you pay for your purchases, and then the tasting on top.

Hi Ari - it sounds as if you have been confused by our offerings - we offer three levels of tasting; Bar tastings are $5 (which are refunded on wine purchase) and our sit down tastings which are presented with the Plumm varietal wine glasses and given more generous pours are $15 without cheese and $25 with cheese. These are... More

My husband and I stopped in here on a whim after a day trip to Richmond. We were a bit hesitant due to them being in the middle of renovations but we went in anyway-you wouldn't have even noticed as the hosts were so warm and welcoming! We did a wine tasting with the son who was extremely friendly and... More

Dropped in here on a whim while out with a group of mokes - and so glad I did. warm wonderful people, delightful setting and great wine and cider. Not cheap but all quality. The bubbleduck was fantastic - and I could not resist the wild cider. Next time Im back in Tassie I will be by with a picnic... More

We cam here on a wine tour and it was my favourite winery of the day. They were still building the new extension so we sat outside by the lake watching the ducks being fed. We thoroughly enjoyed the cheeses and wines that we sampled as well as the history of how Puddleduck came to be. Well worth a visit.

They were in a bit of a flutter with the new premises having only just been completed, but they more than made up for any disorder with super friendly staff (Jackie herself served us) and truly delicious wines! If you like proper champagne, try the bubbleduck (a fun name for an amazing sparkling). And the verjuice... Who knew you could... More

We visited Puddleduck and were delighted by the winery staff and the wines. It is situated on a farm with a huge pond and there are yellow ducks everywhere. The owners were very friendly and it was a fun place to visit. We bought 2 bottles of wine here and enjoyed them later on our trip.

Spent a few hours here with my Mum over a couple of glasses of Puddleduck Bubbleduck. We took our own food (mostly from the Wicked Cheese Company down the road), Puddeduck generously provided plates, cutlery and entertainment from Lucky Duck and Polly Dog. Also, I'm sure we met the whole family and they were all super lovely! Would be great... More

Currently being renovated and expanded, so be prepared, but our welcome was still warm and the cider tasting we did was unhurried, friendly and informative. Wine available to taste as well. Locally owned and operated. Close to Hobart airport and lovely Richmond village.
