A must see castle full of history in a great location. It is still maintaining its magnificent galore, very close to the souk and city centre. You need 3-4 hours to explore the whole area.

For obvious reasons, Lebanon has rich crusaders’ heritage. Saida fortress of XIII century benefits from the scenic location out in the sea and has quite an important historic significance. But it is hardly the most impressive crusader fort I've seen in the country. The Saida Sea Castle is not as large and monumental as Qala'at Sinjil (St. Gilles’ Citadel) or... More

When coming from the old city, the crusader castle on the sea is a dashing sight. It's nice to visit it as well, even though there's not much to see. From the top of the towers you have a nice view on the city.

I always like to visit this castle, then climb to the highest section then marvel at Sidon's old town from there. The view is especially nice since this castle was build in about 50 meter in the sea.

This is a well maintained ruin which is well worth a visit. Incredibly scenic, it provides for plenty of exploring, poking about and photography. It is not wheelchair accessible, and the upkeep and maintenance of the site is not great. But that has the advantage of giving you more freedom for your exploring!

This castle was built by the crusaders in the 13th century to protect the city from attacks coming from the sea. It was built on a small rocky island and it is connected to the mainland by a bridge. Many sections of the castle were destructed by wars and earthquakes, but still an important amount is standing. You can walk... More
