Beautiful monastery. The churches are breathtaking from the outside and from the inside. The infamous blue and gold domes are an unforgettable icon. Everything about the place looks magical :)

We toured this monastery on a beautiful day and simply being there around buildings that were built in the 11th century was breathtaking. There are several old churches in the monastery and even a nice gift show where you can purchase a nice Russian Orthodox Relic or icon. There was even a Kvas vender outside selling this traditional Russian beverage... More

The Trinity Monastery in Sergiyev Posad is a joy to see. It is so beautiful. It is easy to get there from Moscow by car apart from the initial traffic jams, but even easier by frequent trains from Moscow. Two or three trains run every hour. You can easily spend a day in the city visiting the monastery and the... More

Soulful , spiritual destination ..if you want to get closer to the understanding of the Russian soul/character , you can't miss that place. You don't need to speak Russian , what you feel there is on spiritual level, language is not an issue.. Gorgeous architecture! Try to visit on an ordinary day , not on the day of a spiritual... This is just a stunningly beautiful place to see, such amazing architecture and we'll kept churches. If you take an empty bottle with you (you can buy one in the white art display church building) you can then fill it with holy water from either the outside or indoor fountains. I was driven here by a friend so I have... More

Beautiful monastery. Full of people. What disturbs me are the numerous stalls for food, drink, souvenirs, etc. In the compound. It is of course a source of income for the curch, but all these merchants can also be outside the gates of the monastery.

To all Russians st. Sergius is the Saint that saved and made the state of Russia. The town and amazing monastry is dedicated to him. Segigiyev Monasstry is an oasis of wonderful buildings and the place of pilgrimage for the Orthodox. as well as visiting the various churches you can join the line to light candles and visit the tomb... This is a very popular tourist destination, but since it is quite large there is space for everyone. The Monastery is beautifully kept and renovations continue to keep it up to par. A must visit in my book. We hired a private tour guide who was a local student who spent quality time with us.

The beauty of this fortess/monastery is divine. The plenty of churches, chapels, mosaics, traditional orthodox paintings, golden and silver ornaments and icons floods your senses. The garden is also very well taken care of, everything was blooming in July. But the most touching view was of an orthodox priest, stop his walking in front of the gate, gesturing the cross... More

About 70km from Moscow, the monastery is the Russian Orthodox equivalent of the Catholic Vatican, and attracts similar amount of devotees (that is, considering the tourist accessibility of the place). there are many points of interest in the complex itself, so the trip will not be wasted. The complex is serene and beautiful despite the tourists, decorated with antique frescos,... More
