Its true uniqueness, however, lies in the fact that the same family has continuously owned it since 1855. We are a true farm winery with a peaceful, laidback setting. Many cats live here, and the property has picnic tables on a lovely shaded hillside so you can sit, visit and relax.Tastings are done in a cool old barn where we pair wine with food for a truly enhanced experience. « less

I just returned from a fun girls day at the winery on Sunday. We took the Hermann Trolley and this was our first stop. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and I was excited to try this winery. I am from St. Louis and have never heard of Adam Puchta or tried their wine. Our overall visit was very positive... More

Thank you for such a nice, honest review. I'm glad to hear you and your girlfriends had a fun visit to our winery. We hope that you will visit us again soon, also just to let you know our wines are distributed throughout the state and you'll find numerous stores in the St. Louis area that carry our wines :)... Will I go back? Yes. This was the first of many wineries that we visited when recently in Hermann. There is a $5.00 fee for the tasting but I found this to be reasonable. We were able to taste 6 wines for this fee. We were served in a glass wine glass and provided appropriate food pairings to complement the... More

We really enjoyed the tasting and purchased a few bottles of wine but really agree with others that it was a bit ridiculous to pay for a tasting when it is not customary in the area to do so. I belive it was under the guise of because they do their tasting with food which the crackers did bring out... More

Thank you for including Adam Puchta in your anniversary getaway and thanks for the nice review. Yes we do charge for our tastings and you are correct in saying part of the reason we charge is because we serve snacks that enhance the flavors of our wines as well as using the Riedle wine glasses (except on festival weekends -... We visited Hermann this past weekend for our 1st anniversary. The B&B where we stayed said this was the 2nd rated winery by her guests. I would have to disagree. It's very commercialized, not personal or very informative at all. I will say it wAs busy the day we were there but we zoomed through our 6 samples and didn't... More

Sure it is a nice area and pretty scenery BUT they charge you for a tasting and then rush you through the tasting. The staff is not so friendly, just wanting to sell you something. I have been there twice and well second chance was no better than first visit.

It had been over 10 years since we stopped in Hermann, MO, to visit the wineries. We were disappointed in the Adam Puchta because it had become so commercialized. In the past there was no fee for wine tasting and a person was served wine in a glass not a plastic cup. Also, in the past, we have been known... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our winery. We appreciate that you have been a long time friend of Adam Puchta Winery and we have definitely changed over the last 10+ years. The one big change of course was charging for tastings...In 2011 we decided along with several other wineries on the Hermann Wine Trail to start charging... More

My wife and I visited Hermann in June and we stopped here for the wine tasting. This is a place that charged for the tasting, which was fine, however, we were rushed through the tasting so they could get to the next ones in line. It is really a shame too, because they had the best wine of any of... More

We really enjoyed this winery the MOST in Hermann. The wine selection was wonderful and the staff was friendly. It was nice to have "pairings" (of various crackers or chocolate) with the wines. We definitely bought a few bottles!

Worth the drive out of town to visit a winery set more in the country. The wine is very good, Adams Choice is a favorite for our group that likes sweeter wines. The Reckless Desire is good for the ones who prefer dry. The tasting you have to pay for (years ago you did not), The staff is very knowledgeable... More
