We spent a memorable weekend in the Sage Room of this beautiful, historic mansion. We had a lovely bedroom complete with antique furnishings, beautiful decorations, and a private bathroom. Our stay included a complimentary (and delicious) wine and cheese tray in the late afternoon. Breakfast was phenomenal! Both mornings we had coffee followed by a fruit plate and a berries... More

This was by far the most interesting thing in Hannibal to see. It's a wonderful story on the history of this building. The tour guide is one of the owners. Worth the time and bother to visit. Filled with original furnishings - during the summer it's air-conditioned very well. Also a B&B! Do this if nothing else!

We were so glad we made time for this, as we were really impressed not only with the house and all the stories behind it, but even more by the extraordinarily articulate and gracious tour guide, Warren. A really first-rate attraction, and well worth the time.

Our family, including 3 children under 12, thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Rockcliffe. The owner was our personal tour, and he clearly loves his home and is passionate about sharing it with the community. Our kids are relatively well behaved and asked a lot of questions, and he was compliant and knew how to keep their attention with a... More

Rockymtnboilerbabe, I am delighted to hear that you and the kids all enjoyed my tour. I really love it when I have a tour group (especially with children and seniors) that are attentive and interested in history, architecture, art, and perhaps an occasional ghost. I could not agree with you more that "the place is amazing", and I do truly... More

On our last day in Hannibal, I couldn't leave without touring this mansion. It had caught my eye from the beginning of our visit. And I'm glad we went. My love of history and old homes made this all the more worth it. Our tour guide Warren was amazing (also owner), his love of his home, it' history and his... More

Marqnkev, we are so pleased that you enjoyed Warren's tour. He's up in Hannibal full time now, mainly working on the many ongoing restoration projects underway at the Mansion; he helps out giving tours from time to time when we get really busy, and on weekends. The other tour guides have all noted that he does seem to take his... More

This place should be #1 on your list of things to do in Hannibal (just like it is on TripAdvisor!). I don't want to give away too much, but you will learn some awesome history and facts about one of the most amazing mansions of it's time....it is unbelievable that it has survived and is in such unbelievably great condition,... Thank you so much for this very flattering 5 star review. We agree that the tour of Rockcliffe Mansion is something "the whole family would enjoy." And yes, we provide some "awesome history and facts" during the tour, including the fact that in 1902, during his last trip to Hannibal, Mark Twain gave a talk at Rockcliffe at a reception... More

When we arrived at Rockcliffe Mansion a tour had already begun. We missed the history of the first room. The staff was very accomodating, and we were allowed to stay for the beginning of the next tour to hear the history of the room we missed. The tour guides were very friendly and very knowledgeable of the history of the... More

We were in the area looking for something to do. This was listed on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed, the home is a jewel and it is very fortunate that it was saved from demolition. The tour took about an hour and the home is also used as a B&B.

The mansion is beautiful, the people who own it are the tour guides so you get over a hour tour of the thirty rooms. It's sad, but it's literally falling down. It is a bed and breakfast, so those visitors are able to see it for "free". Definitely one of the brightest spots in Hannibal and not related to Mark... More
