I love to visit historical homes across the country. Especially ones that have been saved after neglect. The owner, Juan was my guide for my personal tour of Rockcliffe and gave me an opportunity to view the beautiful rooms and objects at a leisurely pace. His passion for what he had accomplished and what he hoped to continue was inspiring.... More

Took a great tour of this old mansion. Guide had lots of info about how these people used to live, a whole different world from the ordinary folk. Amazing to see the excess that wealth could afford. If you're into history or buildings you'll love it.

The owner gave us the tour, and it was really informative. He discussed the history of the house as well as some renovation plans. It is a beautiful mansion and I loved the Tiffany lamps and stained glass windows. It's good to know it is continuing to be restored and now it has opened as a bed and breakfast as... More

Thank you for your kind review. We are very glad that you enjoyed the tour. In our experience, our visitors on the tours are always interested in Mansion's B&B accommodations. Accordingly, we make it a point to mention that option when either a question is asked on that topic, or we are passing through one of the rooms where guests... More

I love older homes and am glad this place is being renovated. My husband and I took the three o'clock tour on July 11. The lady giving the tour had lived in the house with her husband at some point, and knew a good deal of the history of the house and the original owners. She was the only person... More

Tour was well paced and interesting. It is hard to believe some of the original wall paper and furniture survived the house sitting empty for 43 years. Thankfully, vandals spared many beautiful furnishings, chandeliers and windows.

Tiffany windows & lamps, arabian carpets and beautiful wood moldings. The exterior needs some upkeep but inside...wow. The lady who gave our 2 hour, three story tour did a really great job explaining the history of not only the family but the house and furnishings too. She was very knowledgable.

Because we own a Victorian home and know the work that goes into restoring and keeping up an old home. made me appreciate the beauty of Rockcliff. The home, located high in the city, overlooks the river and many other historic homes. Rockliff speaks to you as you enter the front door telling you of the life many years before... More

Spent a relaxing evening at Rockcliffe Mansion last night during a day trip to Hannibal. Our host Juan was engaging and made us welcome in his home. Fabulous setting and your visit will contribute to the ongoing restoration project. We did not expect to tour this house but glad we did. We were the only people on this tour and the guide was the actual owner of the house. He definitely has a love for the preservation of something so beautiful. The tour took about an hour. Is it worth the price? He has to have some help paying... More
