This theater with an intimate atmosphere is a good place to view art house films, documentaries, and international offerings. The companion Uprise Bakery serves great soups, salads, sandwiches, and finger foods.

This place has something for every hour of the day. Food, beer, art, cinema, and an unending supply of good conversation. I highly recommend it.

This is a cozy theater that runs those not-run-of-the-mill films. Check the on-line calendar so you don't miss any good films. Uprise Bakery and a bar occupy the lobby area. You are allowed to bring drinks (if you are of age) and your great sandwich into the theater. Also, attached to the premise is the 9th Street Video Store.

It's bar, its a restaurant, its a movie theater, AND its movie rental facility! What more could you ask for?! And yes, you CAN take your drinks and food into the theater! No, they don't play the movies the "regular" theaters do, and no they don't have D-Box, but what they do have is two cozy theaters with unconventional seating... More

Wonderful not-for-profit, with topnotch bakery attached. Also next door to one of the last surviving and thriving VHS/DVD rentals (for a reason!) Comfy seats, great film selections, friendly workers, ability to take food and drink into theatre is a GREAT bonus. Local art adorns walls of eating area. Clean, nice bathrooms. Cool club - Mondo Mondays.

Ragtag is a fun place to see a movie. It isn't an art house type of place, but is independent and shows many films you wouldn't see at the big theatre chains. Great snacks, meals, and drinks available in the cafe' and you can take it on into the movie if you like. Very comfortable, laid-back place. Discount for seniors... More

Where can you find great independent and foreign films and documentaries with an awesome bakery/café and a great bar? Not to mention the interesting people who hang out to imbibe and discuss the films that have just seen! I can't imagine Columbia, Missouri without Ragtag Cinema!
