Romantic and very nostalgic. Food was outrageously good! Nice lighting on the outside of the train to see the countryside after sunset. Was a pretty time of year to ride the train because the leaves were still off the trees and you could see better.
We celebrated my birthday aboard the dinner train run. As for the dinner itself it was very well prepared and presented. We did the smart thing and order one of each of the entrees to share. The train was wonderfully restored and a relaxing ride. The only slight fault I give it is that the entire time you are at...

I love anything nostalgic. I loved boarding the train, being served while chugging along. Forward is much more enjoyable than backward, however. We took the brunch train, so it was shorter. I think that a longer train ride would have been more enjoyable--longer to linger over your meal, etc... I do wish that the scenery was more to talk about....

Talk about a disappointment. My boyfriend and I had been wanting to try the dinner train, and had an opportunity this year when his sister decided to take her daughter on the "Christmas Express" ride with Santa.

We had an excellent time on the dinner train. The food was delicious! It was a unique experience and one we would like to do again. Great service too!
The food was okay; extras are a bit pricey (and the price is high enough). My vegetarian meal was overdone. It's a nice one-time experience, but I wouldn't do it again.
We took my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary. The setting was beautiful. The food was delicious. My only complaint was the service and how late the main course was served. Our waitress abandoned us between courses and we were left with empty glasses. When we finally did get refills, there was no ice. Also, be prepared to wait patiently...
