Walk along the wall to see a mural of Missouri history. You don't need to spend a lot of time here (you can see the entire wall in about 15 minutes). It's a must see if in the area.

Born in Cape, I have been by here a couple of different times throughout my lifetime. I was finally able to bring my family to one of my favorite places in Missouri not named the Gateway Arch. The murals along the flood wall cover historical people and events from all walks of life from astronauts to authors and athletes to... More

Our flood wall is not only pretty with murals and the history of this area, it is holding back the mighty Mississippi River. It can hold back up to 53 feet of floodwater. (Just recently it held back 48.86 feet of water, when the river crested). It was built many years ago, but is still serving it's purpose very well.... More

Every time we visit our family in Jackson we go down to Old Town Cape, right on the river. We think the wall is impressive and the murals are interesting. Old Town is great, antique stores, restaurants it's always fun to peruse.

I love seeing all of the different people from Missouri. Without seeing these walls I don't think about all of the famous people who are from Missouri. I am always looking for what went on the walls that aren't painted yet and wondering who will be next. If you love art or just enjoy seeing who is from Mo it... More

The mural is ok. It depicts a history of sorts that has illustrations of many famous Missourians. This takes literally about 5-10 minutes to look at. This is definitely not a must stop and see attraction.

We really enjoyed the walk. Learned a lot about the area. In particular we were curious as to whether Missouri was a Confederate State or a Union State. Never did quite answer that for us. Turns out - both! Anyway it was a pleasant way to learn about the area and some of the favorite sons/daughters. Behind the mural wall... More
