The entire flood wall in downtown Cape Girardeau is a mural depicting the history of the city. Both sides of the wall are painted. You can walk by the river as you peruse the wall. The entire downtown area is historic with fantastic architecture, quaint shops, and great restaurants. There is a lot to see in historic Cape Girardeau!

Nice walkway by the river. The murals are super. I loved reading about the history of the area, and the famous people. The area was very clean and tourist friendly.

Come to Cape and walk the Wall of Fame. Pictures and plaques tell the story of years past along the Mississippi River and also make great photo backdrops. If the flood gates are open you can walk along the river, watch the barges and take in a breathtaking view of the Emerson Bridge.

As we walked along the sidewalk by the train tracks we looked and the wall of fame and we had not realized how many Missourians had made history.

See the history of Missouri in beautiful murals on the flood wall in historic downtown Cape Girardeau, MO. What a great way to decorate a concrete flood wall. One end shows the historic events. The other shows famous Missourians. A written description is displayed at each section to tell about the murals. Walk through the open flood gates to see... More

If you get the chance be sure and check the wall out it is a great scene to look at, and the gallery is a great place to go in and see as well.

I must say, this is impressive...they seem to keep adding new art all the time. They have done a wonderful job depicting Missouri history. Bring you kids...this is a great learning tool to see history as art. Whoever painted these did a wonderful job...thanks....

It was very neat to see. It is only a short walk to view the whole thing. The only problem was that some of the information signs were faded out and unreadable. I would still recommend people to stop and view this landmark.

I visited this site with my husband and our family last November. The weather was a tad chilly for our taste but the Wall was amazing. I am a history buff and love art. This combined both of my favorite things. It was very informative and the murals were beautifully painted. Definitely worth a visit!
