I've not been to a Hatchery before, but my father-in-law loves to fish so we stopped by on one rainy afternoon. The staff were friendly and eager to tell you all about the trout they stock the lakes with. There was an informative video that was well done and many exhibits to see.

Has a small but full information on MO wildlife and plants. Fun to go out to see all the fish at different ages. You can feed the fish for 25 cent. Even I had to get a handful of feed. Need to wash hands after that but fun.

My family loves seeing all of the trout in it's various stages of growth. The indoors displays need an upgrade however, it is understandable with state funding the way that it is. Earth day festivities were being held and lots of people were here which was fun!

I took my 12 and 9 year old, along with my in-laws because we had time to kill before heading to supper. It's easy to get to, right at the base of Table Rock Dam, has a number of aquariums inside full of native critters and fish, and is staffed by knowledgeable staff. The large tanks out back are full... More

Did you know most of the trout in US are "grown" here? Take your kids from 1-101 years old... feed the baby trout.. see gigantic trout and the impressive Table Rock Dam, and yes you can fish from the banks of the Taneycome

One of the highlights of our trip to Branson was a visit to the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery. With very knowledgeable guides we were shown the life cycle of trout from eggs to 18 month old, when they are released. The large fish tank has huge rainbow and brown trout which one can only dream about catching, but... More

Take a couple of cups with you to hold the fish food. 2$ in quarters was more than enough for the three of us (2 adults and one toddler). I recommend to head to the far back corner and walk around to the ponds while you still have some food left to feed the fish over there. It is especially... More

Fun free activity for young children and educational. Handicapped accessible and the kids loved it. Kids can feed the fish for a quarter!
