Located just below the Table Rock Dam, this hatchery produces all the rainbow trout released into Lake Taneycomo and a few other trout managed lakes. The visitor center has a glass tank displaying very large trout. You can feed the fish in this and any of the holding tanks as well as an outdoor pond. Fish food is available from... More

Excellent place to take the whole family. So many fun free things see and learn. There are guides to help you around the park.

Call me a dork, but this is my FAVORITE thing to do in Branson! I just love going to feed the rainbow trout! There are so many hatcheries with fish big and small. It's very interesting to read about their growth process. They have an older nature center where you can learn about area animals/growth. It's so much fun if... More

Excellent free activity to do with your whole family. Everyone no matter their age will enjoy the visit. The film they show is very informative and the outdoor area is amazing. You have the opportunity to feed the trout by buying fish pellet food so bring a few quarters. One quarter buys quite a bit! Be sure & pack a... More

We went here to kill some time while we were vacationing. It was free and worth every cent! My daughter enjoyed watching the fish and feeding them. The video was interesting, but didn't hold my toddler's attention. She really enjoyed seeing the large fish in the aquarium and it was a good place to go to the restrooms b/c they... More

My family and I visited Branson in August 2014. We stopped by the Hatchery to see the fish. They have a short video, showing how they raise so many fish and how they distribute the fish through out the year. Then they take you outside and show you the fish. From very small to ready to release. We happened to... More

My husband is a huge fishing fan. We really enjoyed walking around and seeing the fish hatchery. We fed the fish and learned about the process of growing the fish and releasing them back into the wild. Next time, I know he is going to bring his fishing rod and test his luck in the river!

Recently I made my second visit to the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery. There is something very special about this place. It begins in the visitor's center where you view large trout swimming in an oversized aquarium. Some no doubt weigh seven or eight pounds. Once you go outside there are numerous long holding tanks where the trout are... More

This is a really great place to visit, interesting for both adults and children. They will show you their 8-minute informational video on request any time, and the actual tours are given Mon-Fri at 10, 11, 1, and 2 (you should call to see if this is still correct). We happened not to be their on time for a tour,... More

This was a great stop, learning experience for kids and adults. Best of all it's free. It's amazing to learn about the trout in Missouri. If you love fishing, you will enjoy this. It won't take but an hour max. Worth it!
