My husband is a huge fishing fan. We really enjoyed walking around and seeing the fish hatchery. We fed the fish and learned about the process of growing the fish and releasing them back into the wild. Next time, I know he is going to bring his fishing rod and test his luck in the river!

Recently I made my second visit to the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery. There is something very special about this place. It begins in the visitor's center where you view large trout swimming in an oversized aquarium. Some no doubt weigh seven or eight pounds. Once you go outside there are numerous long holding tanks where the trout are... More

This is a really great place to visit, interesting for both adults and children. They will show you their 8-minute informational video on request any time, and the actual tours are given Mon-Fri at 10, 11, 1, and 2 (you should call to see if this is still correct). We happened not to be their on time for a tour,... More

This was a great stop, learning experience for kids and adults. Best of all it's free. It's amazing to learn about the trout in Missouri. If you love fishing, you will enjoy this. It won't take but an hour max. Worth it!

Growing up my parents always took us here on our Brandon vacation. I recently took my kids and nephew. They are between 8-12yrs. They absolutely enjoyed themselves. We spent at least 2 + hours there. I suggest going at the time of the guides tour. It makes it more interesting. Also, bring quarters so you can feed the trout. We... More

I am an avid fly fisherman so I was in heaven. However, you don't have to be into fly fishing to appreciate this place. It's free and only takes 45minutes to an hour to tour. Kids will really enjoy seeing the big trout in the tank and seeing all the fingerlings in the small holding tanks. Take a few quarters... More

If you got kids this is definitely a place to go. It's FREE and fun to do while in Branson. There are rainbow trout, turtles, snakes, and other animals to see as well.

Watch the 10 minute introduction video and the touch and feel exhibits in the (small) welcome center, then head out back to visit the fish. Kids love to feed the fish so bring quarters to buy the fish food and cups or bags to contain it!

We visited last week and had a great time. We enjoyed being able to sit and watch the introductory video about the history of trout fishing in the area and the purpose of the hatchery before going out to see & feed the fish.

Me and my husband took our 2 girls here after doing the Ride The Ducks (our captain pointed it out to us). It was free other than the 25 cents for the fish food. I would recommend taking a cup or something with you to hold the food because they have nothing there. They also had some really big rainbow... More
