The fish hatchery has is great for kids of all ages -- adults (especially the men) seemed to enjoy this as much if not more than the kids -- I think they were having visions of catching all these fish. The hatchery is huge and also has displays indoors (as well as a very good video). Fish food is available... more

No admission fee! Did I mention it was FREE! This was pretty neat and you do not get anything free in tourist traps (without a timeshare presentation). The info was very interesting. May 2009 we visited the Fish Hatchery. The workers were very nice and helpful. They have a small museum inside with information about some of the animals from this area. There is a 15 minute video which tells about their fish hatchery. For .25 you can feed the fish. There are HUGE areas with all different ages of rainbow trout.... more
Went to the hatchery with my family in June 2007. My 5 & 6 year old loved everything. There is a short film in regards to the trout hatching process that held their attention. We visited the Fish Hatchery in July 2007..This is an Amazing place to show your kids or if you are a big trout fishing fan..You are able to see up close over 200,000 trout at all stages of life prior to their release into Lake Taneycomo..( It's Free!!!! ) Guided tours are at 9-11-1-3-5pm.
