Unless you just want to ride a train, don't bother with this. There is nothing scenic about this trip. Even with the leaves changing colors and some of the leaves off the trees there was not much to see. Trees and rock facings near the track obscured the view. Saw a few wild flowers. This scenic railroad utilizes diesel engines and takes you back to the 1950's, The tressles are high and provide a good scenic view of the area. more

I took the branson train today Aug 3 2009. It didnt have much of a view. Only saw a junk yard of old cars, and a few cows,and alot of trees.I would say there is at the end a High Point on the bridge in AK. Then you go back to the trees , junk cars ect. Leave the kids... more

My family and I rode this in June 2009. The conductor made a speech before boarding cautioning everyone to return their weapons to the car, bring no food or water, and that our bags would be searched. We went on the railway today. The weather fortunately was not hot for July. We bought tickets about an hour ahead but were not able to get in the first group that went for the observation cars. The trains are very clean, crews helpful,etc, and cars have great air conditioning. The view is rather limited in the summer though. Just lots of rock and trees. In the fall if the trees change color it might be nice. It might be better from the observation cars but good luck getting one. We would have liked a little more... more
