Nice campground but limited beach access across the road

The park manager stopped us in our golf cart and told us we were going 25 mph when I clocked my golf cart and found at full speed and found it only goes 18 mph. The park manager needs to learn how to talk to people because with his current attitude he has lost this customer and he will lose... More

Terrible campground. Won't ever be back. The waterpark was very disappointing. All they have for small kids is a 6"deep pool. The whole trip was terrible. They charge for you to swim at the pool. It was very disappointing.

Like the title of my review states, it could be better. It was not horrible, but they could do more to make it camper friendly. When we got there, my daughter was so excited to go to the waterpark. We got in late on Monday so we went on Tuesday. The water park is very clean and well maintained but... More

The campground felt like it was in the middle of nowhere but it was convenient to New Orleans. There really isn't a beach access. To get a good beach site, travel left out and head down the road about 5 miles. The waterpark and pool were nice additions but they cost extra. The water park was @$18 for adults and... More

We reserved a site online which was a hassle because I couldn't reserve a beachfront site like I wanted. It was walk in or speak to park ranger (who wouldn't answer the phone) only. I needed to reserve to make sure we had a spot because we drove 10 hours to get there. It said you could change sites after... More

The State Park was damage during Hurricane Katrina, but the State Park Service is doing a wonderful job in bringing the park back and the camping ground facilities. You also have the Silver Slipper Casino Camping Grounds close by. Wonderful for the family.

We camped here for 4 nights. We thought the park was very well maintained. Check-in was very easy, we had reserved online. Staff was friendly. Did not go in the restrooms while we were there, used our own camper facilities. Never felt any fleas. I had taken extra bug spray to spray our camping site based on review I read... More

We tent camped here for three nights. There were marshes to explore and a beach nearby. The bathrooms were cleaned and maintained frequently.
