I spent three years in Jackson and made several Saturday trips to our little art museum. It was always very relaxing and a lot of fun. I know next to nothing about art, but the place was always well kept and there are some beautiful pieces from local artists depicting Mississippi life. If you're used to the Met, this probably... This museum does a wonderful job in bringing in art from other parts of the world and makes money for doing it. Recently, a favorite daughter of Mississippi had her work gathered by the curator for a retrospective of her work from the early part of the 20th century right up to the end of it. It is good to... This place is a must-see while you are in Jackson, MS. The museum itself is free, which is amazing. There is a rotating exhibit that is $10 per adult. We paid for the exhibit and it did not disappoint. I had no idea there is such a rich history of art in Mississippi, and we learned all about it at... More

Visited for a recent Art Exhibit and enjoyed the offerings of art, and foods. Smaller than most city art venues, yet was nice set up. I think the warmer months and their outside area would be great for such events. Fountains and gardens in the outdoor area were appealing, but this time of year a bit cool.

The Mississippi Museum of Art offers free admission to the main museum, but there are featured changing exhibits that require tickets. We have been many times and recently enjoyed the special Mississippi artist Marie Hull exhibition which was $8 each for seniors. The museum includes attractive outdoor gardens and fountains and a cafe for lunch or snacks. There are regular... More

The museum building itself is very nice with a pretty fountain in the center of the large complex. The museum was free (the day we went anyway), and they were setting up for a wedding reception, so it is also a nice venue for events. There was a good variety in the art collection, including a special exhibit of a... More

The MS Museum of Art is really a jewel. The museum consistently offers one-of-a-kind exhibitions, with something for all ages. The Art Garden has been a fantastic addition, serving as a venue for countless events, festivals and outdoor movies (my personal favorite). The cafe offers delicious food for a reasonable price, and the gift shop always has something to catch... More

I recently dined here on a nice sunny day. We decided to dine outside since it was nice and warm. There are fountains around, so the set-up is inspiring. However, I could have done without the bird poop on the table. The server was nice enough to clean up everything for us. I ordered the pork burger with fries, my... More
