The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum exists to tell –and...

The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum exists to tell –and preserve– the stories of Mississippi's greatest athletes and coaches, without question some of the world's greatest athletes and coaches.

Question: What other state can boast the leading scorer and receiver in NFL history (Jerry Rice), the leading passer in NFL history (Brett Favre), the second leading rusher (Walter Payton) and the patriarch of the first family of football (Archie Manning)?

Answer: Only Mississippi. And those guys are just for starters. Mississippi male and female athletes have excelled on national and international levels, winning Olympic gold, Super Bowl MVP trophies, World Series games and NBA championships.

Our museum tells those stories, and many more, including being home to the largest Dizzy Dean collection. Stop by soon and see for yourself!

This is a good place to go if you have time to do all of the interactive exhibits they have. We watched a video when we first got there that was really dated, and we didn't know that many of the athletes. There was a little boy's birthday party there that day, and I bet that would have been fun... More

Touch screens with videos that show actual events. Numerous artifacts, old and new. Games for the kids and adults. Great athletes seem to come to life, telling their stories.

This is not only interesting place to learn about the athletes from Mississippi, but a place you can try your hand at batting like the pros, or golfing or tennis. Great for adults and children.

The MS Sports Hall of Fame is a great place to visit. It's a great family event if you have the kids along, yet interesting enough to visit alone. The building is great and your tour starts with a short video/movie of the history of athletes from MS. It's quite interesting and very surprising at the number of awesome athletes... More

The displays at this museum are awesome. I've been there several times and there's always something new. They've done a nice job with interactive exhibits. The amount of Mississippi history you get is great too. Don't leave Jackson without stopping here. Check their website for special events.

Being from Minnesota where the Mississippi River starts I knew of Walter Payton, Brett Favre and Jerry Rice being from your state but what a great class and State of Athletes you have on display here! To know the history of Dizzy Dean and the Jackson Mets to the great facilities at Mississippi State for baseball and football to Ole... More

The Sports Hall of Fame was great. First we saw a 15 minute video showing Robin Roberts and her time with sports. Great exhibits, there is an Olympic exhibit showing the history of Mississippians in the Olympics. Other great exhibits, which showed the career of "Dizzy Dean" with the Cardinals. The only con about it is their gift shop, which... More
