My son (6) and I loved the exhibits. Lots of cool fish and little alligators and turtles. So much to see and do! If it's nice out, I suggest wearing tennis shoes and walking the trails out back down to the swamp area. My son loved seeing the trees growing underwater and the moss.

It was better than expected. It was fun to see all the fossils that came from our county. The fact that some of those dinosaurs came from where we live was fascinating. The kids loved seeing all the fish, turtles and the two-headed snake. We weren't able to take all of the trails due to construction, but the kids never... More

Easy access just off I55 at Lakeland. Lots of interesting fossils. Giant sloths, giant beavers, giant bison, toothed whales, american lions, saber toothed cats, all made in MS eons ago. Great aquariums with native fish- like paddlefish, long nosed gar, blue and channel catfish, many others. Live venomous snakes of South, lots of different turtles, alligators. Well done, Mississippi!

Great place to take kids. There was an animal exhibit going on. We were able to go on a hike. The whole family had a wonderful day.

Had a few hours to kill before my delayed flight so I decided to check out the museum. I thought admission was pretty inexpensive but then realized there wasn't that much to see. I was disappointed in the lack of exhibits. Maybe I'm used to bigger museums but felt the two headed snake was the highlight of the museum.

museum is very well done. Many visuals for those who aren't interested in reading, but enough details for those to learn more if desired. Live animals and dioramas. The largest rattlesnake I ever want to see! Great walking path to experience the ecology. We enjoyed our visit and highly recommend visiting.
