I had no idea this place even existed! We stumbled upon it while motorcycling along the Natchez Trace Parkway. The attendants were warm, inviting, informative and helpful. There is a beautiful display of artistic items made mostly by local artists, info on the artists and various items available for purchase. I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem in Mississippi!

This is one of the most reviewed places in Ridgeland. We found a great deal of unique items. Some really unusual metal work and sculptures. Greeter was knowledgeable of places to visit in the area. Our entrance back onto the Natchez Trace Parkway was nearby. The quality of the items offered was surprising for such a rural area, shows the... More

The lovely modern building hosts a wonderful gallery that sells a wide variety of art. The items range from textiles to wood creations and a wide variety of pottery. A great place to find that special gift.

First of all, a warning: if your Garmin takes you to the site of the sports and agricultural museums, you are at the old location of a few years ago. I turned to my iPhone and successfully found the Center, about 7-8 miles away. Next, at the Center I was pleasantly greeted. There are brochures for visitors of the area,... More

This place took me completely by surprise - not what I was expecting in Jackson. Very nice, high quality exhibits. I had hoped for more variety - but you can't have everything. Full of ideas for other crafters.

A magnificent...and unexpected...building because of its splendid architecture. I can see why it was named one of the Ten Places to Shop in USAToday. If you enjoy the beauty and integrity of individual crafts, then this is your place. Nicely arranged and affordable display of all manner of crafts. We had the good fortune of meeting a gentleman who is... More

the MCC is a beautiful purpose designed space which affords the craftspeople an absolutely excellent venue to display their work. The quirky sculptures out the front get you interested and then you go inside .. beautiful I was on the lookout for a gift for a friend I was staying with in Denver and found a wonderful unique gourd (which... The Mississippi Crafts Center is located across the street from the Ross Barnett Reservoir and is a lovely setting for a contemporary building full of handcrafted products. The Guild, whose work is in the building, has been operating, since 1973. They have a changing monthly exhibit by an individual craftsman and, often, an artisan is demonstrating. The blacksmith is fun... More

The quality and affordability of homegrown crafts was very impressive. Everything is nicely organized in a modern light filled area. There is a large selection of beautiful pottery and metal works that are priced right. The gourds were beautifully crafted and displayed. I bought two of them because they were lightweight, easy to pack and unusual. Most of the jewelry,... More

I don't want to put down the crafts people who exhibit there, but in comparing this to other crafts centers I've been to, this is okay--and I would absolutely visit if doing the Natchez Trace--but I wouldn't get all that excited about it. Certainly not as excited as I would be to visit the crafts center on the Blue Ridge... More
