I came for a scheduled tour, as advertised on the State Capitol's website. Brenda gave me an outstanding personal tour of the capitol building. She is very knowledgable about Mississippi history and was a pleasure to learn from. She also recommended that I visited the Mississippi Governor's Mansion which was giving tours that morning as well and I had a... More

The historic State Capitol Building was an amazing place to tour for a Granny and a 15 and 6 year-old. There is no cost and it was so interesting that they didn't realize it was also educational and a history lesson. We found free parking across the street from the Capitol and took a photo of the grandkids in front... More

Attended child's field trip. Well thought out tours and very educational. Capital Building laid out well and tours provide a wealth of history.

The free guided tour offered every hour is amazing. The tour guide is a volunteer that is very organized and can answer almost every question. The building itself is magnificent and worth seeing. Luckily, you only need about 45 minutes or so for this visit if you have limited time (like I did).

This is a living museum. You can walk through it and see where the history of MS was made. It is a well preserved piece of nostalgia that can be appreciated for years to come.

It was my first time in MS, and this was the first attraction I visited. The tour guides told great stories that helped me become familiar with the background of the region's history and aware of different things to see in town. The details of the building are amazingly beautiful and worth walking through and taking a look.

Tour was about 30 minutes long. Beautiful architecture and stained glass windows. The governor portraits on the lower level are interesting to look at. Not a lot of other artwork though. Spent total about an hour with the tour and walking around on our own. Also viewed the Veterans Memorial across the street. At the back entrance is the figurehead... More
