This capitol building is currently undergoing major renovations but you can still see and appreciate the many beautiful features of this building. We were lucky to tour the building with Pauline who was both very nice and extremely knowledgeable about the building and it's history.

We first stopped by on a Saturday and the building was closed. We returned on Monday and we lucked out with a personal tour with Steve. He really loves the building and is full of information he presents in a very good manner. The building is a beautiful example of Beaux Arts with lots of stained glass and ornamentation. Old... Was very pleased with docent who guided us. Very well informed and obviously happy in his work. A pleasure to speak with and have as our tour guide. A tribute to the Syate Capitol .

We were the only ones on the 11 am tour and got to ask a lot of questions. The tour guide, an older gentleman (whose name I have unfortunately forgotten) was really nice and had wonderful stories. We really enjoyed our tour. And got some restaurant suggestions too when the tour ended. Beautiful, detailed architecture.

The Capitol is beautiful. Our guide was so knowledgeable we enjoyed every minute. Although some areas are under renovation, we received a fantastic tour.

Be sure and take the guided tour. Our guide was wonderful, knew so much history. We always try to visit state capitals when we are in the area of one and this one was impressive. Not as grand as some but still beautiful in it's own way.

The archives is most impressive. Just about any information you might want on Mississippi and Mississippians can be retrieved there.

We arrived at a time right after the time it said tours were leaving, and we did not want to wait another hour. We then wandered all over the Capitol, going to the visitor's section to look into the House and the Senate. The House Sgt. at Arms was at his post and answered some of our questions such as...
